"I've had this large view welding helmet for about a year now and I love it. The larger field of view is great and means I don't have to get as close to the work to see as much. The auto darkening feature works very well, and has never failed me. The helmet stays put when I tighten it and still flips and up down easily (down with a nod.) I would classify myself as a hobbyist, so I don't use this every day, but it sure does beat the old style where you had to flip the dark lens up and down with your hand. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, and the price was very reasonable for this quality."

"Excellent hood. Works great and is very user friendly. Headband is comfortable and has alot of adjustment. Viewing range is excellent. Just as good as the expensive models in my opinion. My only con is I haven't figured out were to buy replacement lenses, they don't have them available at Northern. Also wish it was made in USA but thats hard to find these days."

"I received this hood a year ago on Fathers Day from my family, after a little hinting from me. I waited to put a good year on it before I reviewed. Well the jury is in.... This is a fantastic value and as good a hood or better than hoods costing 3-4 times as much. I have found all adjustments to be easy and straight forward, there is plenty of viewing area, no twisting and straining to get a good look at your bead. The auto darkening feature has worked flawlessly and the headgear is comfortable and easily adjustable once you become familiar with it. If you are on the fence on this, don't be. You will be glad you bought it, and glad to have the money you save to spend on other necessities."

"This helmet is a great value. It works very well and has great adjustability to allow for different welding conditions (inside, outside, etc). Headband adjustment takes some getting used to and it sometimes pulls my hair, but the helmet is an overall good value."

"I have been a professional welder and welding instructor for over 40 years. During that time I have had inexpensive hoods and expensive hoods. This hood for the money is one of the better hoods . The fit is good, but takes some time to get it set right, plenty of adjustment to do that though. The auto darking feature so far has worked flawlessly. I would diffenatly recomend this hood for the beginer or professional."

"If you weld you need this helmet, The larger view is great for keeping track of where you have been, where you are going and just great. Its LCD adjustments are great so that you can go from Mig, to Arc, to TIG and have the right delay, to get the best arc started. In the past I would use an industrial bulb hand light right on top of the work so I could see through the weld glass, and it was a very small view. This lets you spot weld fast to tack your project quickly and easy. It works so well I was worried that I was getting the protection, only to use it to look at the sun and see sun spots then I knew it was that good.
