"This item was purchased when we had a power outage at our house and let me tell you it can put out the heat!!!! The area we live at lost power due to an I ordered the heater from Northern. When we hooked it up our house was toasty and warm even though our power was out. I recommend it to anyone!"

"We use the Blue Flame heaters in our houses and offices and have yet to have one fail. The fact that they heat like a central furnace is key - even in our 100 year old former railroad building the warmth is steady and the heater uses far less fuel than anticipated. The thermostat control is surprisingly accurate, allowing us to turn it down at night while still providing frost protection for the pipes. I recommend them to all my off-grid customers as they need no power to operate. Superb product!"

"This product works like a champ. It lites up every time with no problem. It is able to keep my home warm. Very user friendly. It is a tough product. For the price it is a great heater it beats using an electric heater. There is protection on it to prevent children from getting burned. There is a cover in front that makes it where you can't touch the flame. I have recommended this product to someone and they bought it. I have had no problems with mine and have had it for over a year. I would highly recommend it to anyone"

"I bought this heater to suppliment the wood heat in my shop. It heats the shop up nicely,even in temperatures well below zero. The only problems I have had with it so far are: sometimes it takes a long time to get the pilot light started and continue burning, and the button for the ignitor is so tight in the housing it sticks in the down position, which is very aggravating considering that you have to push it 10-15 times to get the heater going. Now, with that said, for the money you can't get a better ventless heater, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants occasional comfort heating of a shop/work area. I recommend the blower fan attachment, it works well also."

"My husband just installed this in our bungalow style home as our main source of heat and it works great! Granted our house is small at around 900 sq.ft., but it heats our house up very well and we have never had to have it on any setting over 2, and a lot of times I get too warm and turn it down to 1. It's very economical and we are very pleased with our decision. It was very easy to install even for my husband!"

On this ProCom blue flame wall heater the inlet size for the gas connection is 3/8 inch NPT (national pipe thread). Piping must be 1/2 inch or greater in diameter to allow for proper gas volume.

They are safe but you would need to check with your own state and local building codes to see if they are allowed in your state. Some states do not allow these type heaters, such as California.
They are intended to be used in open areas such as family rooms. I do not recommend them in a bedroom where doors are closed and you are sleeping.

Details:

My knowledge of propane and heating are limited. I assume 30,000 BTU is the maximum output if run on high for the full hour. This unit has 5 settings so I assume that the lower settings have a lower BTU output. Any information on this would be of great help in my decision. Thank You.

The maximum BTU output of this heater is 30,000 there is not a minimum BTU rating. The heat settings are thermostatically controlled so that as the desired temperature in the room is achieved the flames will gradually shrink until all that remains is the pilot light.
