This item is shipped via "truck freight" (common carrier or flat-bed, not UPS). The truck must be able to access the place of delivery.

"This is my first pellet stove I aquired 3 years ago and I think I got my money back in fuel savings. The only things I do is clean ashes and the fire pot once a week plus add pellets to the hopper once a day
The draw back is it does not have self igniter and a thermostat. Probably with these two items it will be a good saler and save money on pellets and home fuel.

"This stove will do everything it says and then some. We burn wood pellets mixed with corn; 65 to 35 ratio, and that's it. Our total utility bill in the winter being total electric and using this stove is less than 225.00 per month on 1800 sq. ft. home. In the chilly Midwest winters of late, it is less than half of others around me. I have tried rice and soy beans. Rice burns fast but hot, soybeans are even hotter but are very oily. Use a good hardwood pellet that contains no pine wood with clean dry corn and you will have a lot of heat on the lower settings. You can control the room fan, the firebox fan, feed rate of fuel, and the rate that the firebox agitator turns, seperately. I can get a blue flame about 2 to 2 1/2 inches above the agitator! Yet it is cool to the touch every where but the glass & door,the flue pipe is on the warmer side but does not burn unless you hang on to it past all reason, so it is very safe around pets and most children knowing what hot is and what it will do.
I can't begin to say enough about the agitator. If you don't have one trying to burn grains in any amount, you WILL have a clinker to remove at least daily, depending on the rate of fuel feed. You only need to clean a US Stove with the above fuel mix once a week, takes less than 5 minutes to do it too. The more grain you use the more often you will need to clean. If you are thinking of a pellet/grain stove, then look no further. There have been ZERO problems in the 3 years we have owned this stove. We have owned other pellet stoves and either sell them or leave them behind in the house we just sold. Every one that knows we have a US Stove Multi Fuel Stove comes to check it out and so far 3 more have been sold!
The flue is not overly expensive or hard to install, cutting the hole thru the wall is about the hardest as it requires a thimble of 8" diameter for the flue pipe to safely pass thru your wall. The thimble isolates the double wall flue pipe from anything solid that is combustible and both are a must. Don't worry about using triple wall pipe as it will rust out long before double wall burns out.
One thing that is outstanding is the electricity consumption....1 1/2 amps total which means during a power outage you can power this with a small inverter and battery. We did for a full 7 days in 2008 on one charge of the battery.
Dollar for dollar you will not do better than a US Stove Multi Fuel Stove in your home."

"THis is a great product. It not only produces heat but it is good for the environment by not using the natural gas for producing heat. It uses the natural product of corn. the only drawback is finding the good quality corn to burn. Mostly I used the Northern bought wood pellets to burn."

"I bought this unit a couple of years ago and it's been great. Very forgiving to use -this was my first pellet unit and the manual was very helpful. Great blower on it and with the right combination of fuels, I mix corn and wood pellets, gives good heat. I had it professionally installed for insurance reason and the installer whose seen many of these things was impressed with for it's size and functionality."

"I purchased this stove last year for a home I own in VT. Its a 2300 sq.ft ranch. Other than a little loud blower noise, its a great unit. Heats the entire house in the dead of winter with temps of sub zero. It was more than I could expect. Looks nice and works even better. Good suport from US Stove as well. I had a whistle noise from the room blower and tech support sent me a replacement grill gasket that fixed it.. Can't ask for anything more.. A+ in my book..

Details:

I am very interested in the model # 6041HF corn/pellet stove. Below are some questions that I have.
1. Because it has legs and is a distance from the floor, does it need special flooring underneath or can it be put on carpeting?
2. How far does it need to be set up from a wall?
3. Does it need to vent outside of the house through a new openning in a wall or through a chimney or is it ventless?
4. How hot does the surface get?
5. How long is the electrical cord? I have limited outlets on exterior walls and need to know the length or cord because I am assuming it isn't encouraged to run extension cords from them.

Answers

You do need a non combustible surface just for safety's sake and the insurance man will smile too; a piece of 10 gauge steel painted or I have used alum foil with paver bricks placed tightly together on top for a hearth look. The recommendations for distance from the wall are clearly printed in the instructions and inside the fuel hopper lid. It will need to vent outside, chimney kits are available but I suggest a thimble and double wall pipe. The only surfaces that pose a burn danger are the glass and door; the flue pipe does get hot enough to burn but only if you keep hold too long. This unit does have a circut board and printed circutry so I would strongly suggest as I have done is to use a surge strip. This will protectyour stove for most any electrical malady, i.e. lightning, power surges, repeated on/off mainline faliures. The length of the surge strip cord and the stove cord will get you to about 8 ft depending on surge strip cord length.

A hearth pad is needed underneath the stove. You will need 9 inches of clearance from the wall and it must be vented out. The stove will be hot to the touch and the glass front extremely hot. The electrical cord is 3 feet long. I hope that answers all of your questions.

Answers

In reading the instruction manual the heater does include an auto ignition. This can be used for wood pellets. There are other instructions for other fuels used such as corn and cherry pits.

These instructions are listed on pages 18 and 19 of the manual listed on our website for this product.
