Brinly-Hardy Poly Lawn Roller - 690 Lbs., Model# PRT-36BH
Not playing with a full box
I just received my PRT-361 BH roller via UPS. And just as all the google reports said, "Great roller, parts don't all come as expected," so went my circumstance. Kind of sad that if we want to order something made in USA we don't know how to package our products. The missing part is going to be shipped out day of product arrival, but if anyone asks about the handling aspect of your product, I'll mention like the others, "they're not playing with a full-box." Plan on it taking more that one shipment to get all of the product you should've received the first time around.

I have been over run with moles this summer and have tried everything to rid my yard of them (to no avail). But with the use of the Poly Lawn Roller the mole tracks are completely removed, allowing me th mow the lawn without scalping it. I have a John Deere d140 lawn tractor and it pulls the 675 lb lawn roller easily. The assembly of the unit is very easy and with water used inside for weight the unit works very well.

Just got this thing today. A little awkward but doable. All the parts were there and the instructions were very easy to follow. Put it to use right away. Filled with water and backed up my riding lawn mower to it to see if it worked. Guess 12hp is enough. All went well. I can now keep up with those voles and chipmunks that totally wreck havoc in my yard. Does a very good job. Knew I needed that much weight and I was right.
Do recommend for keeping the bumps to a minimum.

Has plenty of weight to do the Job. Very easy to roll without any damage to other areas

once you get the parts, it's ok
Bought two of these, one for myself and one for father-in-law. Neither came complete with all hardware necessary to assemble, but then neither did the Brinly-Hardy spreader I got last year from Northern. As last time, emailed customer service at Brinly-Hardy, got replacement parts about a week later, and assembled. Work ok, drum is a little lighter construction than I'd hoped for it's weight rating, but working ok so far. They will take a set if left full of water for more than a few days, altho they "round out" fairly quickly once you start using them again...looks like best case for most occasional users, like me, is to fill and then drain each time. Good thing is that empty, it's very light and easily manuevered out of the way.

Deforms with weight of water
Everything worked great for a while, but the roller flattened on the bottom under the weight of the water. I talked to customer service at Brinly, very helpful, but told me that I either need to drain the water after every use (not practical), or fill with concrete. Buy a steel version if you need a big roller.

When I first received the roller there was a box of parts missing, but with Northern Tools great customer service getting in contact with Brinley's customer service, they sent the parts out the next day. I used it on half my lawn (over 2 acres) and pulled very nicely with a 16 horse lawn tractor. With the rounded corners it doesn't dig into the ground when I make a turn. I am waiting for some rain to soften the ground so I can roll the other half.

During the first sharp turn that I made with subject roller, the bearings came out of the tow bar/frame, therefore, in order to make the roller work for me, I had to squeeze/bend the outer frame together somewhat so that it would stay put over the roller axles.

Brinley Lawn roller
This roller was very easy to assemble. Had to call Brinly-Hardy, their customer service is awsome. I am very happy with this product.
