Brush Grubber Brush Grubber Xtreme, Model# BG-11
This product worked great. It slipped once or twice on some small trees but it just needed some readjusting.

I have pulled over 50 trees with my Brush Grubber Extreme now. It works very well on nearly all types of trees. There are some trees (ash, hickory and locust) that have extensive and deep root systems where it will often shred the bark and the wood until you have toothpicks. All other tree types we have in SW VA - it works as advertised on the first pull everytime. I was surprised to see it work on even very small ~1 inch stuff. If you don't want to pull trees down on your head while driving the tractor, I recommend cutting the trees about 3 feet off the ground and grub the stump.
The spring on the unit is vulnerable and we try to pull with the spring side up to protect it. Even with this approach we have bent the spring, but it still works fine. A second spring is a worthwhile investment.

Brush Grubber Extreme
I purchaed this item because it sounded like a really good idea, It is .... I only wish one size would fit all ... I have three different items from this company. they all work with only minor difficulties. The only downside is needing more than one size ...

Works like a mean machine
The brush grabber works just like is was supposed to. I am very happy with how it works and would suggest you buy one if you have brush to remove!

Extreme is Right!
This thing is extreme all right. It is heavy duty and you have to be pretty strong to open the spring but make sure you are on the tree when you release or you'll be like a bear in a trap. I bought the biggest one but after using it with my small 20 hp compact tractor I went back and bought the next smaller size which is more manageable. Two people work well so you don't have to keep getting on and off the tractor. One word of caution, cut the tree about 3 or 4 ft above the ground before trying to pull it out. If you forget, when you move forward the tree will come a knockin on your head as it pivots toward the tractor. Once you get the hang of it, you can clear a lot of trees in a short amount of time.

Almost too Much Fun to Use
This product really gets the job done. It is heavy and will really give you a work out. I also bought the standard size Brush Grubber for stuff 1.5" and smaller as the Xtreme is too big for the smaller stuff. The only problem is what to do with all the brush you pull up.

Brush Grubber :Short Work of Small Russian Olive
Annually I go after the new crop of invasive Russian Olive Trees. The Brush Grubber makes short work of trees up to5" diameter. When pulling with my truck I use a snatch block (hooked elsewhere )and cable to make sure I don't yank the offending tree up into my tailgate. Be sure to get a good set with the jaws, otherwise you can just shred what you are trying to pull

brush grubber extreme
The Brush Grubber works as advertised. The only drawback is that with smaller trees that have soft bark, the grubber has a tendency to slide up the tree which filles the teeth of it with bark and you have to dig out the chewed up bark before trying again.

Brush Grubber Xtreme, Model# BG-11
Using to clear for new home and other area's on the 48 acres that is over grown with lots of small trees and brush, works better that expected on all but the smallest shoots.
Use most of the time with the just loader on trees up to 3" or so and the larger from the hitch.
Would be easier with two people as it requires alot of on and off the tractor.
It is a little heavy as mentioned by others but REALLY DOES WORK !!
If it ever wear's out I will be getting another one for sure!!

The Brush Grubber does as it says it would do. The only limitation is the person that has to attach the devise to the stump. I have a 40 HP tractor and it will pull out any thing I can get the Bush Grubber on. A few small tricks to learn but well worth the money.
