Brush Grubber Brush Grubber Xtreme, Model# BG-11
Glad that I got the one with handles to release the tool. Had a bit of a time with items smaller than about 1/2 inch. For the small bushy stuff go with the chain.

Well designed device
This tool works really well at removing small trees and brush. I have the spring operated version, which makes it easy to use without assistance. It is a high quality product – I have been using it for several weeks now and put it under a decent amount of stress and strain and no parts have broken or bent. It can, however, slip off of smaller plants. My strategy has been to place the device as low as possible on the plant, even on the roots.
Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone who has some brush to clear. I have been thinning out a blueberry patch. You can be very selective about which plants to pull and which ones to leave.

This tool is HEAVY. Strong arms are required to pull the jaws apart while lifting the tool (and attached chain) to apply it to a plant stem. Green stems under 1 inch slipped through the jaws but anything 1 inch and up pulled perfectly. I use a chain attached to a front-end loader but my plan to have my wife set the jaws didn't work because she's not strong enough. Now I get on and off the tractor to do it and she drinks tea while supervising. Hmmm.

This is a great products, very well built and sturdy. I have been using it to pull out small trees with my Polaris Ranger 6X6. It is easy to use and performers as stated. It is much heavier than I thought. Well worth the investment.

Pretty good device
This is a good tool. It has a good design. It works best on medium-sized, shallow root plants. On larger deeper rooted plants, it mainly stripped the bark off the tree. It worked well on removing hedges, not so well on mimosas.

I bought this for pulling big vines out of trees with my tractor. It works for this, but a smaller model would have been a better choice. It is heavier than I expected, and takes a strong arm to put it in place around whatever you are going to pull. But the handles are a nice feature.

Built for the task
The photo needs to be updated for this BG-11 has a very needed spring on it, One person can use this tools with the spring, for it clamps to the tree and stays in place, I have pulled up well over 50 trees from one inch to several as wide as the tool will open. Mostly with a L2350 25hp 4x4 Kubota tractor and it will clamp down and stop the tractor without slipping off the tree. Great tool, the only problem I have had is pulling "popcorn trees" which are all over the south and the tools teeth are not deep enought to get to the wood and will often pull the bark off and slip the first pull, but will pull it up once the bark is gone. If they want to make it better would handy if the deeper tooth pads off the bigger Grubblers were offered and were interchangeable ( they are not I called and asked), and the spring is the only weak part of this tool should be a second one with the tool or at least offered. Other than that work very good.

Brush Grubber BG 11
Excellent tool for pulling small trees up to 5" in diameter. Makes job of clearing trees less time consuming and easier on the back. Get a good heavy logging chain to hook up with to 4X4 tractor and your in business.

This product worked great. It slipped once or twice on some small trees but it just needed some readjusting.
