"I've used my 2" pump for a variety of applications. While enlarging our small lake, the pump allowed us to draw down and maintain the level while removing an island, installing drain tiles and dressing the bank. Now we use the unit for irrigation. It starts and primes easily. We purchased the unit with a wheel kit and highly recommend it."

"I was very skeptical that something so inexpensive could work well but based on the other customer reviews, I thought I'd give it a shot. We had major flooding in our town and our backyard had turned into a lake. I had considered getting a gas pump in the past but I kept putting it off. Make a long story short, this pump was outstanding. I was a bit concerned about priming the pump and figuring it all out but it really was quite simple. I could not believe how fast and powerful this unit is. I drove myself a bit crazy trying to figure out "do I get the 2" or 3", should I spend more money, will this really work, etc. etc." I feel really confident that I'm prepared for future H20 problems. I also have a new respect and trust in the Powerhorse brand and other brands Northern carries that I'm not familiar with."

"I have used this pump twice to pump out a well about 12 ft deep.
The pump work very good. It pumped out sludge at the bottom with no problems. My only issue were the instructions were not very good. It was kind of a guessing game as to if I needed to add oil. There was oil in it but not full. Also the running/starting instruction were poor. But we got through it and it works fine. For the money its a great pump for home owner use, I don't think I would use this in a situation like a job site and needed to run it every day. As I use it more I may change my mind."

"When I bought this pump, I was a bit skeptical because of the price compared to the other units such as the ones utilizing a honda engine. However, when I actually used this unit, it started right up, pumps strong with NO problems. I would buy again. I DO strongly recommend the optional foot ball valve to keep pump primed when unit is off. Other than that, EXCELLENT product! Thanks northern!"

"When my rented water pump broke down while emptying my 22,000 gallon in-ground pool, I purchased this pump from Northern Tool to finish the job. It worked much better than the rental prior to breaking down. We were very happy with the results. The pool was emptied in no time flat.

"Excellent shipping time, Delivery from SC to WI in three days. PowerHorse started the second pull, after first time run starts first pull. Does everything they said it would! Price was excellent, sure runs nice! Would have sent picture if I would have known this was going to be sent, had to put in heated garage because its 35 degrees today. Maybe next time using it I'll send picture. Excellent product! Will send second review after using it a couple of more times."

The tank seems to hold about a gallon or so. You might check the specs detail if that's vital info. Run time varies from 3 to 6 hours depending on the throttle setting and how high you're lifting fluids, density of suspended solids, etc. Like most non submersible pumps this unit is more effective at pushing water than lifting it. Create a solid base for your pump as close to the surface of the intake as possible. It will draw up 10 ft or more but a foot or two will be easier to prime. TIP: Be sure to protect your intake from clogging by installing a screen of some kind. Northern Tool offers several devices for this. As an extra level of precaution, we tied a rope to the bail of a 5 gallon bucket and lowered our intake head inside to keep it out of the mud. The upper end of the rope is tied off to the frame of the pump which helps us recover the intake assembly when we move it to another location.

The fuel tank capacity on this pump is 2.7 gallons and the run time is approximately 2 hours.

We have had really positive feedback on this pump and the Powerhorse brand in general. This unit is a great choice for light commercial or homeowner use.
