"This pressure washer has the power to do the cleaning jobs around the house, and it does a great job. The engine has cranked for me the first time that I have used the machine, and it makes no difference as to when the machine was last used. The quick disconnect features on the hose and the gun allows a quick set up and change. The chemical injector works great. I would reccommend this pressure washer for any "around the home" uses. I have owned my pressure washer for about three years."

Is the pump worth the $$ for residential use

Details:

I'm comparing Model# 1578173 to Model# 1578112.. The only real difference I see is the pump. For a residential user who will use the pressure washer heavily for short periods of time (like all weekend twice a year), is the pump that much better for the $150...

Both of the pressure washers are considered professional units and the CAT pump is the most preferred by professionals. With the amount of use you are describing the NorthStar pump on #1578173 would be ideal for heavy residential use.
