"Good quality traps. Caught a coon the first use, baited it with apple slices. Moved the critter inthe cage to a safe release area and let him go."

This product is not worth buying,
August 30, 2010
"These traps were on sale. I purchased them in hopes of catching rodents. The catches on the doors are made in such a way that if you set the trap so the door doesn't snap shut in a breeze, the prey can get in, step on the trip plate and get away with the bait without tripping the door to close.
I cannot recommend this product."

Poor Quality - Doesn't Hold Raccoon,
July 26, 2010
By Daryl1 from Allentown, PA
"I frequently have raccoons in my yard ... they raid my garbage cans and are just generally a nuisance around the house. Typically, I use a havaheart brand and had mine for a long time. I needed to buy a new one and I saw the price on this trap and thought I would give it a try. When I recieved the trap, it looked similar to the havaheart I had bought in the past so I was pleased. But as soon as I started to set it, I noticed that it was all wobbly and felt really cheap. I gave it a shot anyway ... bait it ... set it out ... but I was unsucessful. Day after day I would check the trap and the door was down, bait gone ... so frustrating. Then finally I caught one... I walked outside and literally watch this raccoon sneak out the 2 inch gap between the door and the rest of the trap. I finally figured out how these buggers have been getting out! I checked out the trap close up and the raccoon was actually able to bend the door because there was too much play in the door ... wobbly... like I said earlier. What a waste of money ... waste of my time..."

Trapped raccoon,
May 31, 2010
By Stopdamage from Omaha, NE
"After seeing a large raccoon in the garage for awhile, we didn't know what to do. It was destroying property & chewing the structures which now must be substantially repaired. We were scared to go near it because we were told it could be vicious & attack us. The Humane Society said to use a cage because they could be very dangerous, so I looked for something economical, hoping it would work because the raccoon was taking over the property, it seemed. I ordered the set of 2 cages which arrived quickly & we set the larger one - a special raccoon bait only for raccoons was put in the second night because it did not go in the first night with a shrimp even though we saw it observing the cage. It was caught the second night with the raccoon bait , then we called the Humane Society to pick it up. This raccoon was huge so I suggest placing a heavy object on each end of the cage to keep the raccoon from moving the cage around & possibly getting out. We are in the process now of rebuilding what it destroyed. Please don't let raccoons take over your property because you don't know what to do or don't have much money. Find the resources to trap them because it is a small cost compared to the damage & danger. Besides destruction of property, they can attack you & carry diseases. Thank you Northern Tool! it's an awesome deal & we appreciate your excellent products that are of high quality but affordable. We will always be grateful to you."
