is this a bb gun where you can dump in a # of bb's , then pump it once and shoot, no air cartrigde required?

The bb gun is the type that does not need an air cartridge. The gun has the lever cocking, spring air action to shoot.

yes, you fill the magazine with many BB's and then just cock the handle and shoot until you run out of BB's.

You can dump in lots of BB's near the end of the barrel. One pump per shot, no air.

Answers

The rifle does not come with ammo. Northern does not sell the BBS. It uses standard .177 caliber BBS.

Accurate Seems to be well made, should last a long time. Shoots accurately, not too powerful but is fine for playing around the yard. Don't plan on killing anything with it. January 11, 2012

Just like I remember from my childhood. Growing up, I had a BB rifle and remember all the fun I had with it. This one is similar to the one I had and decided to buy it and see if it was like I remembered. It is great and brings back so many memories. BB Gun I got this bb gun for my 7-year old's birthday. He LOVES it! I must say that they aren't making them like they used to -- which is why I only rate it 4 stars. But the price is okay for what you get (a happy kid). By the time he's learn the basics about gun safety etc. you can move on to the bigger stuff. October 19, 2009

Great for the kids I got one for each of my 3 sons. I tested them all and they were surprisingly accurate up to a little more than 100 feet. Only like one of 20 shots actually punctured the tin cans I was shooting at. So while I obviously am using them to teach gun safety so they know not to point at anything they don't want dead. I feel they are weak enough that all I require is they wear shooting glasses. The comics were kinda neat and old looking. My only complaint is that as cheap as they feel they should've been priced a little lower. March 16, 2009
