"I was not sure that such a small drill press would meet my needs, but I have limited shop space so I purchased Northern Tools' Mini Drill Press. My worries were unfounded because I could not be more pleased with my purchase. This drill press has been a real workhorse in my woodworking shop. It has plenty of power to handle any task I need it for. Moving the belt to change speeds is much easier than I thought it would be. I like the small foot print the Mini Drill Press has and the small size of the machine makes it light enough that I can easily move it about the shop."

"A year ago when I needed a drill press, but couldn't spend a lot, I gave this one a try. So far, it's done everything I've needed of it. I've used it for pen making, drum sanding, and lots of circle cutting. It is quite precise, no slop. I even used it as a lathe on several occasions. I use it with my forstner bit set to make mortises for round cornered tenons. It's one of my favorite tools. I'll probably upgrade to a floor model some day, but this continues to provide excellent value. Thanks Northern Tool!"

Good Drill for hobby shop,

"For the price, this drill press is great. Has a belt tightener that works great. Motor seems good for this size tool. Reason for 4 stars is the handles get in the way if you have long pieces out the side. I removed the one that is pointed down so it works for me. So far I got at least what I expected considering the price."

"This is a nice little press at a good price. It is quite the upgrade from just using a standard drill, like I have been. If you don't own a drill press, get one; I find myself constantly using mine. The motor seems fairly strong, and would be perfect for almost any size wood bit. I use mine primarily for steel and it does a good job, although bits 1/2" and larger are a workout for the press, definitely recommend some cutting oil when using large bits, it makes a much better/faster cut. No problems so far."
