Good for the Price
First all, finding a twin auger mixer is next to impossible. There not many on the market. Secondly, this thing mixes twice as fast as any single agitator. The end product is better mixed in the same amoutn of mixing time. So for those two points, this thing is great.
I agree about the earlier comment about the ribbons on the agitators being sharp. I would suggest using a file on these right out of the box.
The other thing was the variable speed adjustment. It only lasted for about 3 runs, and no longer works. The motor just turns on and off--Which is my main reason for giving this thing a 4 star rating.
But otherwise, it mixes and mixes well, which is what we needed!

This thing works great. it has a lot of power I have tryed other single auger mixers , but this one works best. I like the speed control and the two speed transmission.

This mixer is great at mixing. But the edges of the blades are to rough or sharp the cut into whatever you are mixing, That definitely is a problem with drywall joint compond. You end up with plastic pieces from the bucket in you compond. I am going to try and file the edges and see if that helps. Otherwise it mixes amazingly.

As Good as the high $ units
We are a medium to large contractor and have found that these mixers, if used properly, will perform as good as ones that cost 4 times as much. We can purchase one of these units for less than a set of replacement blades for the expensive units. We use these for paint, mortar, and aggregates and currently have six units out in the field with only 1 failure in the past 2 years.

I mixed thinset in 30 seconds that normaly takes me 15 minutes to mix. The result was very well mixed mud. I could tell it will mix mortar and grout with no problem. I will probably mix 200 or less 5 gallon buckets of these things and from the looks/ feel of the mixer I expect no problems.
The motor does smell a bit if you run it wide open, but there is plent of power to mix well even when you back off a little.
It even came with spare motor brushes, Usualy living in a small town I have to rig such things from what I can find. I'ld buy it again at double the price!

I purchased the single auger mortar mixer some time back. It works great. I would imagine the the double auger would work even better. If I ever need to replace mine, I will get the newer model. I would also consider purchasing the stand for it.
