Works well...
I bought this as a utility pump and have found it to work great. I currently use it as a pump for my cistern There is plenty of debris that doesn' t seem to bother it at all. It has a relay that threw my the first time it tripped but after a short period it was back working.

A quick, cheap fix. Good luck.
If you can afford a better pump, by all means get one. I couldn't and needed one immediately so I bought this one. Even though I have it set in a well in my basement, I still have to go down everyday and pull on the floater to restart it. The tech manual says there's a reset button on it but there isn't. Tech support was stumped when I called them and just guessed that I should go down and jerk the floater switch. I've been jerking everyday since then.

Sump Pump for Pond
Excellent pump so far, i use for my pond after using the "Pond Pumps" that only last a year for three times the money.

stiff float switch cable
The pump works well and seems well made but I had a problem with the operation of the float switch. I have the pump in a 24" diameter sump and had to shorten the float cable, as directed, or the float would get hung up on ther side of the sump even with the pump strapped to opposite side. When the cable was shortened just enough so the float wouldn't rub against the opposite side of the sump it would go several inches completely underwater without activating the switch which resulted in a couple of floods. A slight jiggle of the pump cable was enough to activate the switch but that didn't help when no one was there to notice it. When the float cable was shortened it was apparently so stiff as to prevent the float switch from getting in a vertical enough position to activate the switch. I thought about adding more floatation to the float switch but there was no easy way to atttach it to the float. I finally reached a compromise of making the float cable long enough to activate the switch and not hang up on the side of the sump even though it was capable of rubbing against it. It took a number of tries but it seems to be operating OK now. Other than that the pump works well and pumps a lot of water through a 2" pipe with about a 10' head.

BEST PUMP I'VE FOUND
I have had several pumps including larger swimming pool pumps for my pond. This one has lasted longer and worked better than any other i have had.
I STRONGLY reccommend it.

Good product..Low price
I have four pumps as I live in a wet area. I dug a proper sump pit in order to drop this inexpensive pump into. I used a juice barrel as the container.
The pump has kept up with the heavy run-off I have experienced. The only reason I am not giving if 5 stars is because of the plastic base. This could be better designed.
Performance-wise, it has been a great pump. I have only had to run this one pump during all stages of basement flooding. The float switch is a pretty nice feature ion such an inexpensive pump.
It is easy to give this pump a hearty recommendation.

Good pump for the $
Got the pump and put it to service the next day. Ran pump stright for 4 hrs with no problem. Wish I had a larger discharge line, I had to reduice it down to a garden hose and it still did well. Homeowner with some experance

Sump pump
Pump is strong but there's too much travel before the float switch turns on the pump-- water can be 9-12 inches deep. Hard for the float switch to turn off the pump unless the float can go below the floor or the pump is raised above the floor. Not well designed. I had to modify with polystyrene foam for extra flotation. Buy another pump unless these problems don't mean anything in your application. I bought for an emergency pump in case my basement floods while I am gone, and I can live with these problems but would have preferred a better design.

hardworking sump pump
I needed to buy a pump to pump water from one pond to another and didn't want to spend a fortune. This pump did the trick for under $100. I didn't expect it to work that great because of the low price but it far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this pump.
