great drill
this drill is a monster this drill has no problem drilling a 1/2 inch hole through 1/2 inch steel, and is ready for more, the drill is light weight and extra heavy duty, definetly money well spent

Good power, nice drill
Use these at work in the machine shop. Battery life is good, good power and the battery life indicator is nice for knowing if you need to grab the spare before you start on your task. These lithium batteries are fantastic compared to the Ni-CAD and NI-Mh ones of old.

Milwaukee M-18 compact driver drill
This drill is very compact and has great balance when operating. Multiple torque adjustments are extremely handy. The M-18 battery is powerful and has long life. A great tool !!

Great drill, not too many glitches
I am VERY hard on tools, and the industry I am in amplifies that greatly. After going through a bunch of cheaper ones that said they could deliver, I finally shelled out the the extra dough for one of these drills that actually could deliver. Definitely glad I did! It paid for itself the first time I drilled through a 1.5 foot thick concrete wall. It took both batteries and was very hot afterwards, but kept going and going anyway.
The only bad about this drill: It does not perform well in 110 degree F and up temperatures. Also, the screw holding the chuck down came loose once. It took me a while to figure out what the problem was, but was very easy to fix through the open chuck. I still use my drill a lot everyday.
Overall, VERY good drill, highly recommended! Lithium Ion batteries are the best accessory.

Great Batteries
The best improvement in this product is the M18 batteries. They last much longer than the old 18V, they charge fast, are smaller and very light weight.

heavily used and abused.
I work in industrial maintenance we purchased this drill because we can't get a drill to last. we do abuse our tools and this drill has held up pretty good after about 1 year the batteries started to die and the chucks weren't holding bits. but these two issues are probably due to our charging practices and the lack of care given to the drill. The other brands that we have used have not been able to last this long we have had these drills for 4yrs and started replacing them with snapon drills and they too are have the same issues however the chucks seem to be a little better. overall i think that this drill is a very good product and would purchase it especially if it were for personal use or construction use.

Great tool
I have owned Craftsmen, Ridgid, and Dewalt Brand 18v Drills and find that this is one of the best drills for the money. This drill seem to be more reliable than the Craftsmen and Ridgid drills and about the same as the Dewalt, but with a lower price tag. This drill has been able to do most everything I need it to.

Milwaukee M18 Cordless Compact Driver
This is my fifth cordless drill. Others have been Skil, Panasonic, and Dewalt. I was happy with all of those, but I wore them out. I tried a friend's M-18, and liked it. Past experience with Milwaukee tools has been good, I own quite a few.
I love the size and weight of this drill! It has a lot more torque than the others I've had, and it's much smaller and lighter. The batteries seem to go full blast right till the final second, then just quit. Not a gripe, just different. They charge up quickly.
I have been a professional contractor, but am no longer. But between our home, cottage, and my workshop projects, I use this a lot. I have not found any issues or shortcomings, and would expect this to last for a long time. It could well be the last cordless drill I ever buy!

My Best Cordless yet
I was hesitant to review this prior to some longer term use, but am so pleasantly suprised with its performance that I couldn't wait any longer. I've had the drill 2 months or so, and used it primarily in bitter cold, outdoors. I work on trailers and drill a lot of aluminum and steel, so battery life has always been an issue for me with a cordless drill. Many times, I simply drag out the extension cords to do my work. I use the drill not only for drilling, but also with wire and nylon brushes to clean metal. The battery life more than doubles that of my last x-brand NiCd drill, is more compact, and charges as fast or faster. I thought I would see teh built in light as a nuisance, but find myself very happy with it when I would otherwise be holding a flashlight in my mouth, during these short winter days. I'm still working on something at 6 o'clock, and don't need maglights or auxl ights for a simple drilling task. I hope I can get a good 3 yeras or so out of it. I LOVE the hex impact drill that is it's mate, as well.
