Mr. Heater 12-Ft. Hose with Regulator for Item# 173635
No Gas Flow!!
Great idea, but every year since I've bought this hose(since day one) it gets clogged(will not allow gas to flow thru). I hook it to a 20lb. tank and no gas comes thru. After screwing with it for a few days it will finally work. Living in Texas I only need it to work about 2 months then up it goes to storage. Too expensive to use 1lb. cans, not to mention time consuming. Would have liked this to work, going back to another brand of heater(noisier but dependable).

works but not recommended
First let me say I used this product on my big buddy heater and it works just like one would expect, until my heater got clogged. Now I have a nice boat anchor with a 12 foot hose. The problem is that you can not use a fuel filter with this hose. With out a fuel filter after just a few 20 pound tanks you have one clogged up useless heater.
use only the Mr. Heater non regulated hose that screws onto where the little tanks go. So that it will work with the filter.

A regulator is not a filter
I have had my Little buddy now for 3 years and always use a 20lb. propane tank. This hose is a must to keep tank out of my way. I also was told not to buy a filter and did not at first. After talking to one of our propane agents, I now use a filter also.
It was expained to me that in all big propane tanks, there are impurities that reside. Those impurities may be drawn up into your tank as you have it refilled. The requlator on the hose is not designed to control impurities, only pressure. Therefore it is important to be aware that to actually filter these impurities, you need the filter for your heater. Remember, that orifice on that heater is very small and can clog easily. In case you don't use a filter. Piano wire , a G string, works pretty well to clear the way.

Good, but pricey
This is a really convenient item, but I noticed a significant reduction in gas pressure. It almost seems that the regulator is set more for a high pressure application such as 100 lb. tanks. I didn’t get nearly as much heat from the ceramic plates as I did using a straight hose from a 20 lb. tank with a Mr. Heater filter. I like this product, but I'm not really sure if it's worth the price.

This hose is worth the money. I can now haul a 20 pound propane tank to the shack and not have too worry about heat for a long while.

A must have for Big Buddy portable propane heater
This hose is a must if you have a Big Buddy portable propane heater. This hose allows you to hook up to a 20 lb propane tank and can heat for up to 120 hours vs. 8 hours on two of the small tanks that hook directly to the heater.

Quick and easy
Got tired of using the small bottles and ordered this for my Big Buddy heater. It took less than five minutes to in stall and start using this hose with quick connect. Now I can go for days between swapping out bottles.

The best add-on for a Mr. Heater Big Buddy heater
This is that hose that you want if you want to hook up a twenty pound tank. You DO want to use the twenty pound tank. Even though the price is high in comparison to the heater itself it will pay for itself in a year or two over the hoses with no regulator because YOU DO NOT have to buy filters which run around the ten dollar range . Also the quick disconnect fitting is more useful than I thought. It was faster and easier to set up the Big Buddy in the cold with this fitting - my hands did not have a chance to freeze. This hose WILL store under the Big Buddy in the storage area.
4/5 because of the price.

Fittings and connectors worked great. Hose length accommodates keeping the propane tank away from the Mr Heater.
