The useful depth on sockets that have a step down is 1 inch. On sockets without a step down the useful depth is 1-3/16 inch.

Deep Well Impact Sockets These have worked for me very well. When I first purchased them, I thought that for the price, they would be throw away sockets. I was wrong. They are strong and have never failed me. The ONLY CON is that my friends like them so much, they always want to borrow them. So when I need them, I need to ask for their return!! These are heavy duty and I use them around the farm for equipment repair. January 9, 2012

deep well impact sockets had been shopping for this item at local retailers for some time, but found them to be too expensive. This item was reasonably priced, appears to be of durable construction and came in handy carrying case. January 9, 2012

Purchasing The only reason i gave this product a 4 was the plastic case the impact set came in was broken in the hinge area which made the case unusable. i would suggest the manufacturer take another look at the quality of the package. Pricing was a added value. January 9, 2012

Good socket set I use this set for tractor restoration projects and have been pleased with the quality of the sockets. My only complaint is with the plastic case. The sockets don't fit securely in the case and they tend to fall out of their slots when you try to close the case. I eventually just took them out the case and stored them in a toolbox drawer. Great set. Needed a set of impacts to go with my 1/2 impact wrench. This is the perfect set for my purposes. Well built, 6 point construction from molybdenum steel and a variety of sizes that compliment my non-impact Craftsman chrome set. The flip sockets are great for lugnuts, or to throw in your car with cheater bar and 3 inch extension for use with your car or trailer in an emergency. The case is reasonably well constructed and holds all the sockets securely. March 14, 2011

inexpensive, sturdy set that has good sizes mainly used for lug nuts and axle nuts when doing brake and half axle jobs. they work well, haven't had any fail, and there is a good selection of the standard sizes. case is molded plastic and one plastic hinge was broken in shipping but works well enough if you don't keep your sockets in a toolbox. December 1, 2010
