Can't live without it
I have had these in the past and can't live without them. This is an acceptable interpretation. My "antique" ones are one piece on each side. These are 3 pieces and I assume it's for price and shipping purposes. It makes it just the slightest bit more unstable than my old ones. They don't scissor close all the way with the cross-shaft bolts tight enough to make it stable. Still good product for the price.
Just a suggestion: wrap the foam with duct tape to keep it from tearing up with use.

an extra set of hands
this product is handy for all aspects of automotive body repair. most of the time you are working alone and need the extra support of this product to hold items as you repair. Great accessory item to have on hand.

GREAT!
This portable work stand is very versatile and holds up great! I would recommend this for anyone. I'm a painter, and it works great for holding bumper covers and fenders. Great Stand!

The pros were right
Saw something like this in a body shop where it was used to support body panels while being sanded/painted. Looked like a good idea, so got one at Northern. It works so good I bought 2 more, and one of my sons saw it and wants one, too. Very strong, adjustable by changing the length of the chains, can throw boards and a sheet of OSB on it and make a work table anywhere. Then fold it up and stick it somewhere when not needed. Simple, but so useful and well made.

Perfect
This stand is perfect for many tasks. It is sturdy, well made, easy to use, and priced very reasonably. I use it to prep pickup truck tailgates before applying Rhinolining.

Good deal
Works very well for cutting bumpers on Jeeps during hitch installs. I needed one and this was about the best price I could find
