"Purchased one to replace a stick welder on one of our barge units. The crew liked it so much I purchased three more for our other units and our shop.

What my crews like:
There are no heavy welding leads to drag around.
Very easy to weld in tight spaces.
Plugs in to any 120 VAC receptacle.
Light and easy for a man to carry.

What I like: Even I can lay down a nice weld with this little machine."

Lots of Welder for your Money.,

"For the money, I love it. I have used this to build a workbench, auto body repair, and general fix it stuff. I have used it with both flux core and solid wire. Gas welding on materials up to 1/8" is smooth. I have welded 3/16" plate steel and pipe with flux cored wire. This welder is really at its best with gas on thin gauge metal. Does an excellent job. The wire feed is smooth, and you can buy the unit for the same price as competing products that don't even offer the gas option! Whats not to like? All 115 volt welders have poor duty cycles and are not meant for structural welds on thick materials. Why overspend for the same thing?"

Good welder for the price,

"The unit was easy to setup and use right out of the box. There were a few changes to the unit that were not in the manual that need to be corrected, the feed roller marking and polarity set-up from the factory. These were found in the initial setup and anyone following normal practice would see these.
I'll review again after using the unit more as this is a first time usage for MIG as all my prior has been with GAS, TIG and STICK."

"This is my first MIG welder and I found it easy to set up and use. I first used it to reinforce some areas on a utility trailer (3/16" steel) and it did a good job. All of my welding experience has been with stick - I'm liking this welder for thin materials."

Nice for the Money,

"I needed a quick replacement for the shop, and was dissatisfied with the ones at the local home center and department store shelves. The controls work as described in the book, but that's as far as it goes. I really need one with more professional features than this one offered. However, with that said, it still will find a million and a half uses.

The quality is what I would expect for an entry level machine. I had a job that I estimated would take a couple days to complete. It didn't work out that way. I needed to give the machine regular, extended breaks to finish the job."

New user problems,

"I've never used a wire-feed welder before, so this was an "interesting" experience. My first project was a garden shovel that had (or still has) a crack in it. The autodarkening helmet was a problem as it wasn't obvious to me how to change the darkening level (now I know), and it was set at the highest darkening. Unfortunately, I couldn't see the shovel surface and at first entirely missed the crack (told you I am a newbie!). Also had trouble adjusting the voltage (burned through at one point) and the feed of the wire (too fast or too slow) - tension adjustment for the wire roll is too basic. The instructions for the welder talked about the feed roller - and the roller provided had different markings than the instructions and had a different size set of groves than the instructions showed. Next project was a much thicker hoe - it had broken - and the weld technique I used was better. Still had problems getting a nice clean weld due to lack of technique I suspect. My belief is that I would do much better with a stick welder. However, I have this welder and will learn how to use it effectively."

"I have used many name brand welders of this size and this welder performs just as good if not better. I set mine up on gas and found to work great on small home projects. I have also done some heavier welding with a little extra prep work and grinding. I would recomend this welder to any one wanting start out welding or any one who needs to weld lighter gage metals with out the heat of trying to use a larger welder thats turned down."

"great welder i own two of them one at the shop and one at home welds perfectly stainless and steel but doesnt weld aluminium as well as i thought it would but still you get more than what you pay for with this great welder"
