The level wind hose guide and being made in usa is what seperates this reel from the rest. It can be removed from its mount and be portable if needed. Although it was a little bit to do alone. Someone asked about replacing the 75ft hose if needed. The sides of the reel have extra room for a 100 ft hose if the 75 is not available. The retractable spring mechanism is adjustable. Legacy sells this reel with 100ft hose installed so its probably just a preference on customer desired length. The hose stop is about every three ft. vs. a bunch of teeth. Works nice if you want to pull hose out for quick use, the retract tention stays on hose so walk it out, use it, walk it back in. Being made is USA is what made me purchase after I got it mounted, I knew I made a fine choice. No other reel is removable for quick travel if needed. I have air hose for those long runs, sometimes being 10 or 20 ft short just pop this reel off wall. Saves trip to store, or moving compreessor.

Disappointed
The reel releases and retracts fine, but cannot get it to hold its position when extended. Inlet on hose from compressor leaks. Too expensive for these failures.

Things that are great about it
We purchased the retractable air hose reel for our son-in-law, who does a lot of work rebuilding old cars in his 3 car "work" garage. This reel and hose reaches every corner and allows him to work quickly and then clean up is much easier. We appreciate the great price, the ease of using your online "store" and the fast delivery service. We will use Northern Tools in the future. Thank You!

Great addition to the shop
I bought this a few weeks ago an hung it on the wall next to the compressor in my shop. The quality was apparent as soon as I took it out of the box. The mounting brackets are heavy duty and the hose pulls out and retracts easily. There is enough hose that I can reach anywhere in the shop, and any vehicles parked outside the shop as well.
This hose reel also can be unmounted from the wall simply by pulling one pin and with the handle on it, I'll be able to carry to the house when needed as well.

reliable
This is the SECOND reel I have owned. I purchased a second one when someone did not follow instructions about how to recoil the line once extended. That person had the line out 40+ feet pulled out the hose to recoil it and let it go........BIG mistake.We owned this unit over 7 years & never had an issue with it until the MISUSE retraction which broke the inner recoil spring......NOT the reels fault, but operator error. That is why I purchased another one. We use it extensively every day in an automotive repair setting. To me "YOU GET MORE THAN YOUR MONEY'S WORTH" with this unit. Easy to set up & move around if need be.

Great Item for the Shop
This air hose reel really turned out to be a great purcase for the shop. My old one broke and I checked around to try and get the best product for the money and I got lucky on this one. The pivot mounting bracket allows for a fixed application or an adjustable application. It also has a compartment in the front that allows you to keep all the nozzles and accessories handy for use. If you are in need of a hose reel of this size this item is a sure bet.

Legacy Retractable Air Hose Reel — 3/8in. x 75ft.
This retractable hose reel is everything I neededso that I didn't have to crawl under my dump truck to do things. I needed a lot of hose and this works perfectly and there is no problem rewinding the hose. It just makes everything so much easier. There is a lot of maintenence to the truck and this is just one thing to make it easier.
When I ordered the hose reel I was advised that it was on back order. Did not think I would have it for Christmas but to my surprise, I did.

Nice reel!
I purchased this product to replace 50 feet of hose that I kept hanging on the wall in my garage. The reel is so much easier to use and allows you to only dispense as much hose as you need.
I hung the reel from the ceiling and locked the bracket in place so the unit cannot swivel. This makes it a bit more difficult to pull the hose out when you are far away from the reel but it works fine. The stops are in convenient places and the hose retracts with the appropriate amount of force every time.
The reel can be tightened if you wish to hang heavy tools from it. I foud a 3/8" air ratchet hangs from it without having to adjust it.
When I first applied 100 PSI to the reel the hose popped in about 5 different places at the very end of the line. Legacy immediately replaced the hose without any questions.
I would recommend this quality hose reel to anyone.

hosed reel
This product did not work well from the beginning. It would pull out with much difficulty. After about two months of service the inner hose developed a leak and would expand the outer hose. I would not buy this reel again.
