Northern Industrial Tools Tire on Spoked Ball Bearing Wheel - 20in.
Garden Cart overhaul w/ Northern Spoke wheels
My 70’s vintage garden cart tires (Vermont Ware Town ‘n Country Cart – no longer in business) were showing their age. The original rubber wheels were deteriorated and cracked. I found the exact replacement at Northern Tool. I also needed to purchase 5/8 inch diameter ball bearing sets to match the original 5/8 inch diameter shaft. The wheels fit perfectly and the bearing change was easy.
While I was at it, I also repainted the cart for the second time in its 40 year life. The cart and the new tires should be good for another 40 years. See the attached photo.

DR Replacement Tire.
It was very easy to remove the tire and put it on the mower.

I have both an old DR mower and a old garden cart. The garden cart has wheels just like these and I had bent the old ones by overloading (400 lbs of stone in a 200 lb capacity cart) them. The solid axle was too large diameter for the bushing that came on these wheels, but I was able to knock out the bushings from both the new and old wheels and use the old bushings - still in good shape - on the new wheels. They work perfectly...and seem to be sturdier than the old wheels. For the old model DR mower, the wheels are different, but the solid rubber tires from these wheels fit them perfectly--as seen on a video on utube.

Exact Fit for DR Field and Brush Mower
I have the original Bachtold Brothers DR Field & Brush Mower with hard rubber tires. I was able to pry off these tires and they fix exactly on the mower. It was much easier than I expected. Search Youtube to see my video with complete instructions.

Tire on Spoked Ball Bearing Wheel - 20in
Excellent Product and great price. The wheels look and work great on a home made flower cart. The solid rubber tires are a nice feature since you don't have to worry about flats.

Great Replacement Wheels.
I have a utility cart/wagon on which I was using 20" bicycle wheels and tires. It had to stand outdoors and the tires were almost always deflated requiring some servicing before I could use it. These wheels totally eliminated that problem.

I've been using these wheels for over 10 years and they hold up great.

My second set
I now have 2 sets of these wheels. The first went for a cart similar to what I see another reviewer has posted. It's been in use now for several years and the wheels have given excellent service over rough ground. I recently got a second set to make a cart of similar design for my wife to collect rocks on our trips to our Arizona property. Again these wheels have proven to handle fairly heavy loads, all she/we (me) can push over varying terrain. I will buy more should the need arise, and I expect it will.

We have all run into an item that's difficult to find so we all know how frustrating that is. After an unsuccessful extensive local search, I dove into the internet. I was looking for these 20" rubber tired wheels used on adult strollers, the kind you see at theme parks. Well, long story short, I found two locations on the 'net to purchase these wheels. Not only was I relieved just to find them, I am happy to say Northern Industrial was $10 less per wheel than the other source! They delivered in a timely manner, which was no surprise to me, as I've always been happy with my dealings with Nothern. Thanks, RickS

very light duty construction
this wheel is extremely light duty, with spokes made of soft metal that bends easily. From the photo, I was expecting construction similar to a small bicycle wheel, but this wheel isn't nearly as robust as even a child's bicycle wheel. I put a pair of these wheels on a small dolly for a boat that weighs about 100 pounds, so the load is 50 pounds per wheel, and already I've had to straighten a couple of spokes after going over some bumps, so I think I'll have to replace the wheels soon.
