"I started using magic heat about 12 years ago on the woodstove in my restaurant in upstate NY. When I bought a house that was heated strictly by wood this piece of equipment quickly became one of my most useful and needed tools. I was at first concerned about the chimney not remaining hot enough to draw but soon realized that was not a problem. I did find that i needed to clean my chimney 1 additional time during the heating season but that is vastly ouweighed by the additional heat provided by the magic heat appliance. My concern about power outages lead me to keep a piece of chimney pipe the exact lenght of my magic heat next to the stove for replacement of the unit during power outages but have only used that once. All in all I LOVE my Magic Heat"

"Living in western Nebraska,all we heat our 1500 sf 1940's home is with is wood.I could ask for any better or more efficiant product,I even (I should say the product) sold itself to my inlaws and they baught one also.very easy installation,plug it in and let the thermostat do the work.We are very satisfied with the "magic heat reclaimer".Could possibly be the most "Bang for your buck" Item I have ever purchased"

"So often the hype on products is just that--hype and not reality. In the case of the Magic Heat, the manufacturers greatly "underhyped" this product. For the money spent, this device is one of the best products I have ever purchased in terms of ease of use, performance, and money savings. Even as mechanically inept as I am, I was able to install the unit in about an hour--and it looked like it was original equipment afterwards!
We have a 2-story house with a spiral stairs and the downstairs area has a vaulted ceiling. Although a heat pump is our primary heat source, we love the feel of wood heat and it adds warmth to our Great room. The problem was, that most of the heat from the stove would rise straight to the ceiling before ever getting to the staircase opening, hence the upstairs was always cold.
With the Magic Heat,much of the heat is pushed to the staircase opening and the end result is that the wood stove heats our entire house--the heat pump only kicks on if the fire burns completely down. We use the thermostatically controlled function on the fan and it works well. (The ONLY negative I can think of is when the fan kicks on, it is kind of loud and we actually have to turn up the TV volume to compensate)
This thing is the awesome--we have had this stove for 15 years and I wish I had discovered the Magic Heat years ago. I cannot recommend it enough.
I should add that we have had one of the coldest, snowiest winters in YEARS here in the Ozarks, and we stayed toasty warm with our Magic Heat!"

"good product. works well. puts out a lot of heat.only problem is that after 3 seasons it rotted out, should be made of stainless steel. holes appeared in the unit that you can't see under the shroud. if you smell smoke, inspect."

"This device works as claimed. I have one on a wood stove and 1 on a waste oil furnace.
I wish there was a light that was on when the fan was running. Thus I would know if it is working properly on the waste oil furnace. On the wood stove I can hear when it is working."

"This is my second Magic Heat unit. My first one was already installed on the wood burner when I bought my home 22 years ago and worked great until the motor gave out in 2009. I installed the new one in less than 30 minutes and other than an rattle that turned out to the front cover "buzzing " against the transfer tubes, it was perfect. A quick tweak on the lower front cover corrected the buzz and the problem was resolved. I heat my 1800 sq. ft. tri-level home with a wood burner and the Magic Heat unit. I have used 59 gallons of propane three months (Nov., Dec., Jan.) for my stove, clothes drier and furnace. When I didn't use my wood burner I used over 120 gallons of propane a month. Great product. My only wish is an adjustable speed fan."

"This product has made it possible to keep my heating bills to a minimum.
It heats my home and circulates the hot air to help distribute heat to other rooms. Installation was quick and simple about 1 hr minimum tools were required. If you use wood stove this is the best improvement you could make to improve efficiency."

Will I be able to clean stovepipe with this installed?

Details:

Does this device interfere with the inside diameter of the stove pipe? In other words, will I still be able to use my stove pipe brush (same diameter as inside stove pipe) all the way from the top down to the stove? Or do the heat reclaimers reduce the inside diameter of my stove pipe to the parallel spaces between heat collectors, without a means of cleaning the soot that builds up there?
