How high it can bring the water?

Details:

I need a pump for my house so when during summer the water pressure is low to be able to pump up water for the bathrooms up to the 4th floor. I may use it only a few times a year or less, so I don't need to spend a lot. Would this pump work and is there anything better for my case?

The pump could be used in an irrigation system. It was not designed for irrigation applications so it may depend on several variables however. The pump is only capable of pumping clear water. Also, the pump provides a max of 50 psi. Depending on the distance you are moving the water, inclines in terrain, number of sprinkler heads, etc, there may not be sufficient pressure at the end of the line.

The shallow well pump comes with, the pump itself attached the 8.5 gallon tank. Hoses and pressure gauges are not included. It is wired for electrical and has a built in pressure switch.

Does pump/motor shut off if water supply exhausted?

Details:

I pump water from a 500 gallon tank. Occasionally, my neighbor forgets to fill. My last pump burned up because tank went empty or pump lost prime, but, pump/motor kept running. If no safeguards on unit, is it possible to install a flow switch that will shut unit down when flow stops.

This pump cannot run dry and will continue to run without a water supply. A low flow cutoff switch can be purchased from a local hardware or plumbing store. The switch will shut the pump off when it senses a lack of flow or pressure.

Third Jet Pump After purchasing two other pumps from a competator that leaked or caught on fire, I turned to the Wayne pump and have been extremely pleased with the consistant pressure as we are on a gravety flow system at our lake house. The only issue is that the pressure switch was sticking in which I have replaced, other than that, it's great... Solid piece of equipment. June 13, 2011

Shallow Well Pump This is the best little pump made I think. I installed this pump at my Uncle beach house 3 years ago and it still looks and works like a new . We were going through a pump every year due to the salty environment eating the pumps up , but not this one! It was easy to install and I primed it one time and she took off . November 23, 2010

Quality & Quanity After installing a drip irrigation system on our small blueberry field, 500 bushes, I discovered that my gravity feed system would not deliver the quantity of water desired to our top 6 rows of bushes. Adding this pump not only gave the additional consistent pressure but reduced the amount of watering time. The addition of an inexpensive pressure gauge in line has created the quality irrigations system I was hoping to have to fulfill our irrigations needs. This pump system seems to fit the bill in quality & affordability above all others I had researched. June 1, 2010

Reliable shallow well pump I've used this pump for a season at my summer home. Even though ther is no pressure gauge, the low and high water pressure shut off switch functioned without incident. The bearing noise is a little loud if left out in the open, but that's not a bad thing, as you would want to hear it (if it didn't shut off) due to a leak in the line or loosing prime. I would highly recommend purchasing this item. April 22, 2008
