Product Summary

Gear-type, heavy-duty hydraulic pump is designed for PTO drive operation on tractors of all sizes. No additional gearing is required. These pumps feature self-adjusting wear plates that seal off leakage and offset any wear or expansion that may occur during the life of the pump. High tensile aluminum housing, minimum gear clearance, cast iron endplates. Internal splined shafts go all the way through and are supported on both sides by roller bearings. All models have a #16 SAE inlet port and two #12 SAE outlet ports. Include #12 SAE to 3/4in. NPTF female adapter. Reservoir size should at least be as large as the output of the pump.

The reservoir capacity needed must be 1 - 2 times the output (GPM) of the pump.

Can this pump be rotated on the shaft so the writing is upside down?

Details:

By rotating the pump I can gain additional clearence between the tank and the pump. Also the inlet and outlet are on the right side of the pump, instead of making 180 degree lines.

This pump can be mounted in any configuration as long as the shaft rotation follows the directional arrows which are located on the outside of the pump.

This PTO pump has a model number of HC-PTO-1A from prince mfg. We do not have a cross reference chart to tell you if it the same as C387.

almost forgot about this one I bought one of these pumps in the summer. I love it. I made my splitter on the tractor work if it were new. I called in to order this because i had some questions and the person i talked with went out of their way to make sure i got what i needed January 9, 2012

Pump doesn't come with Torque Arm Kit I haven't yet used this pump, but I bought it and other items related to the pump based on reviews herein. Thanks to the other reviewers for the suggestions for the strainer, pressure relieve valve, etc. For any future potential customers who want to buy this, you will also need Prince item number 180900877, which is a Torque Arm Kit (not currently sold by Northern Tool). This is used to keep the pump from spinning and twisting up the hydraulic hoses once you turn on the PTO of the tractor. It is a short beam that bolts to the housing of the PTO pump with a chain on the end that can be looped around a part of the tractor. It costs about $50 plus shipping as of this posting (11/05/2009). I look forward to using this PTO pump. November 6, 2009

prince pto tractor pump model#hHC-PTO-1A this pump worked great for me, my tractor internal pump was shot, cost a lot to replace. this was a simple adapt job & flings the loader at a low rpm. this was a low cost fix .the one extra i did was a pto extension so other items could run of the pto also. Good pump for any tractor This recently purchased pump is the fourth one I've had since 1977. First one had more than 3000 hours on it, and wasn't taken care of. It just gave up. Second pump split the gear case because it sucked in piece of metal from a bad cylinder. The third pump has over 2000 hrs and is going strong. I had sense enough to put a strainer on the 'in' side, and a very good spin on filter for the return. This new pump will go on another tractor that has slow, low pressure internal hydraulics which is barely able to operate a front-end loader. So, use a strainer and a filter. Use a good quality hydraulic oil and keep water out of it! It will be more than satisfactory for a long time March 24, 2009

Hydraulic Pump It was easy to install. It had all of the fittings. We didn't need any other parts to change out the old pump. It seems to be well built. Good product for a good price. With this new pump on our tractor we can load hay in half the time. It has paid for itself in just the first month of use. We would recommend it for anyone needing a pump. August 11, 2008
