"I bought this when they first came out and was a little skeptical of the new technology. Its been about 3 or 4 years now and it still works exactly the same as it did new. I cant believe how much power is still left in the batteries after so much use and abuse. A truly magnificent tool. Don't waste your money on cheaper knock off that wont last."

"After using my cordless drill for several years to drive screws and small bolts I finally decided to spend the money and buy a cordless impact driver. After researching numerous reviews there was no question that I was looking for a Makita LXT 18 volt driver. After I got it home I tried it out. The first thing to get used to with a cordless impact driver is the noise when the impact part of the driver engages. It's a little un-nerving at first, but once you get used to it and see how much power this little driver has the noise will be music to your ears.

This driver is a beast! If anything, you need to be careful that you don't rip the heads off of bolts. I particularly like the "headlight" feature that shines a light on your driver tip which makes working in poorly lit spaces a piece of cake. The glow in the dark ring around the nose is a neat addition that lets you spot your driver when you set it down in low light conditions. It's expensive, but this tool is the perfect case of "you get what you pay for". This is my first Makita tool, if all of their tools are of the same quality as this driver, I will be a Makita customer again in the future."

Little guy with power,

"I first seen these in use by commercial installers for the roof on our church. I brierfly tried them and had to have one for myself. After 3 months scheeming I convinced my wife I really did need one of these. I got one and found that my cordless drill batteries went bad because I did not use it any more. I use this little guy for everything. I even put 14 12" screws in with a single battery. They had to go completely in a truss to hold it cantilevered into the second story of my barn. Wow I would have stripped every one with my cordless drill but this impact driver put them all in without a single striped head. What a great tool. I almost forgot to mention it weighs far less than my cordless drill and has much more power."

"I liked the light weight and hand grip. It was very comfortable to use. The light was very helpful. The motor was very strong and drove in 3 1/2 inch screws with ease. Charging only took 20 minutes or so.

I didn't like was the price and the noise but those are a given with this type of drill. Also the side holder for 2 bits didn't come with the drill.

I would recommend this to a friend."

"We have 2 of these impact drivers - use them for HVAC work, mainly inserting self-drilling screws in sheetmetal. These units are very light (lighter and more powerful than my similar 14.4 v model), well balanced, and deliver both high speed and strong impact to start & set screws. The LED headlight is indespensible, as much of our work is in poorly-lit areas. We use these also for driving self-tapping concrete screws - they are quick and powerful. Battery life is very good for a unit as light as this, and will recharge fully in 15 to 20 minutes. Several of the contractors that we work for have purchased these after using ours! They are an easy sell - top quality unit."
