Just what the "DR" ordered!
Some shrubs from the mid-eighties were overrunning our front porch. So not only did I need to cut down the shrubs, I needed to remove their stumps and roots as well. The Truper Mattock did the trick! The flat blade was great for slicing through the tough ground while pulling the dirt back to expose the roots, and the pick end was excellent for breaking and light prying of the roots. It is a "must have" in your landscaping arsenal.

Excellent tool! Good weight and balance with a protective plastic covering on the head.

Mattock
This is one of the best tools I have purchased since moving to Georgia. The clay in Georgia is rediculous to dig in, but this Mattock made all the difference in the world It rips up clay and tears through roots with extreme prejudice.

The right tool for the job.
Amazing value! Most of the Mattocks that I've seen in the local hardware stores are much lighter weight. You can definately tell the difference wielding a heavyweight tool, eh guys? This bad boy cuts a root with the first swing. Sturdy too, and should last with proper care/storage.

good value
I went on Northern because I didn't find this quality at the local super hardware stores. What I found there I would have broke in an hour, even though the handles were short. What do they think I'm doing...pulling up dandelions?
I had used such a tool since I was a young boy. They were my grandfathers, probably from the 1920s. This is a high quality tool that will last generations with proper use and care, and at a real good price. I took a chance with Northern and was delighted.
