It scarred my wife more than the birds.,

"I was disappointed with this item. It did not perform as I hoped it would. It actually attracted a Robin instead of scarring it away. I feel the quality was also poor since it would not hoot at birds it would only hoot when my wife and I would walk out on the back deck. It did scare her a few times. I finally put it away when the head fell off. I would not recommend this product."

"Placed owl about 5.5 ft off ground near garden and the sensors will not even sense me while working in it, much less a critter. I have not had any signs of pests eventhough it does not make noise or motion. I would probably just buy the stationary model, next time."

Super hooter,

"I mounted my owl on a fence post at the corner of my garden to scare off rabbits. At twilight, a real horned owl swooped down just below mach 1 and knocked off my hooter's head! My headless hooter continued to hoot. It was a clean hit and I was able to re-attached the head and returned my hooter to service.

Several nights later, the same event occurred, but my hooter sustained significant damage. It still hoots, but gear arrangements that move the head is now inoperative. My hooter is still guarding my garden in a limited capacity!"

"The owl seemed to work pretty good for about 2 months and then it quit working. New batteries did not bring it back to life. It no longer moves it's head or hoots. I could not recommend this product."

"Great Product! It kept the birds, rabbits, even the dog away from my blueberries. Battery life was a little short but we have allot of birds in the area and the little guy had to work overtime. I bought three and mounted them onto planks of cedar with nails sticking down to hold them in place right in between the berry plants. I moved them frequently to keep the pests guessing. Best blueberry crop ever and I didn't have to deal with the netting! You wont be disappointed."

Owl not good on the defense!,

"We recently completed the construction of a new shop. Pidgeons took an attraction to our trusses, and the feces were being deposited on toolboxes, computer keyboard, parts shelves, etc... We even had two employees "bombed". We purchased two of the Easy Gardner Garden Defense Electronic Owls and placed them on our overhead bridge crane to scare off the pidgeons. The pidgeons were intimidated the first two days only. On the third day we observed two pidgeons sitting only 3-4 feet away from one of the owls. We moved the bridge crane a few inches closer, causing the owl to "hoot" and turn his head. The pidgeons fluttered to the next truss and settled back down. The owls also have a very lightweight base and system for mounting. If you screw them down to something for mounting, you have to remove them to change the batteries. Good thought. Poor execution. Poor quality. Poor results."
