Overview

Don't be fooled by its compact size, DEWALT's DC500 wet/dry vacuum can quickly clean up monster-size messes around the jobsite, garage and workshop. And unlike standard wet/dry vacs, this cleverly designed unit has two power options: plug its power cord into a 120V outlet or run it off any 12 to 18V DeWalt battery for the ultimate in portability. The vac sucks up everything from wood chips and metal filings to sawdust and standing puddles of water. The vacuum has a high-efficiency GORE air filter that captures up to 99.7% of ultra-fine drywall dust. The washable filter can be tapped clean or rinsed under running water, and its unique design allows it to be left in place regardless of whether you're vacuuming up dry debris or wet spills. The DC500 has a 2-gallon capacity tank that is equipped with a convenient drain plug for emptying liquids. It comes with a 1 1/4in. diameter by 5ft. flexible rubber hose, narrow crevice tool and wide-mouth nozzle. Battery and charger are sold separately.

"How many times have you just finished cleaning up and put all your equipment away only to find out you missed the spot where you were working. Being able to carry this to the spot and not worry about the cord is awesome. But this is not your normal wimpy 12v car vac that you end up throwing out because it has no power THIS ONE WORKS and as it has the option to plug it in as well it eliminates the need to carry two vacuums. Put this one in your truck you will use it!"

"This Vacuum is another great tool built by Dewalt. I'm a electrician and I use this vacuum all of the time. Its light and very portable it sits on the bottom of my cart so I have access to it at all times. If you already have any other Dewalt 18v cordless tools then this is a no brainer. You can leave all of the areas that you have worked in cleaner than they were when you first got there. It make's people remember how professional you were when you leave the site nice and clean."

the battery last quite a while and with no cord it makes it real easy to move around and it seems to suck up most anything

"I didn't buy this expecting it to compare to the 5HP Shop Vac I have in the garage, however I was surprised to see how well it works. Using a 14.4 Volt battery pack I noticed to get about 15 minutes at full strength, two got the job of vacuuming my boat done. I wish the unit would have come with batteries and a charger, but it gave me a good excuse to purchase a drill / battery combo that was on sale at the same time. I'm impressed by the fact that this will take an DeWalt battery pack, I guess its ultimately marketed towards current DeWalt tool owners for that reason."

"This is a good basic vac, and picks up water, too.
It has decent power and can run off 110 volts as well as battery.
My only complaint with it is that it is a battery hog, and really pulls down a battery quickly. It would be nice if it could charge its battery when it is plugged in.
Comes with a brush and crevice tool attachments."

"I bought this unit for my kids/young adults. They use it for thier cars. Instead of going to the car wash they use it at home. Draw back to this unit is uses battey power quickly. Although, It works great. If your going to use battery power plan ahead take two batteries with ya. The unit comes with a power cord as well. Dual power great little unit. I'm finding new uses for this vac. Great price/I'd buy it again"
