"This transfer switch is sturdy and has plenty of room for wire connections. I would recommend checking local Electrical Codes as it does not have a service disconnect in it. A separate one would have to be installed if required. I am an electrician and have installed a couple of these and like the quality very much. I will continue to use this product. If you are going to install this yourself, check with local Electrician or Electrical Inspector for proper wire sizing and grounding requirements."

How does this work?

Details:

By two coils, I presume this switch will stay in the last position it was commanded to go in and will stay there until directed otherwise. What voltage is needed for the coil? You only need power on the coil to make the switch move.. and then power to the coil can be removed right?

Answers

The transfer switch senses the power loss for a certain amount of time and then switches over to provide power. It will stay in this mode until it senses that the power has been restored. The transfer switches require 120/240 voltage.
