"Midland has a good reputation of two-way radio's. This one works quite well for the price. I would recommend that if you use it in a vehicle, you should get an external antenna...like a whip antenna or something like that so the reception would be greatly increased. The included flexible antenna is not great, but it works. This is a good portable radio."

"NO STARS FOR THIS UNIT (S) Bought 2 of them to communicate between RV and following auto for trip of 800 miles. If I had a tin can on each end of string, it would be as satisfying. These units were a waste of money, since we were travelling about 75 feet apart, we might as well have been in different countries. No reception and when it decided to receive or send it was so garbled, could not understand. Even in parking lots, it would not communicate. Save your money, they are cheap for a reason."
