only two things
I have had and have used this threader for 4 years now and love it. the only thing I can say bad about it is the stand, the one that came with it was gone as soon as I seen it (it did make a great drum stand) I just built my own right off. But the biggest thing I found is that it only comes with the two heads (1 for 1/2 to 2" and 1 for bigger) now hear is the thing you are making a run with say 1" and branching out with 3/4" and then down to 1/2"... a ever day run for most right? Well get ready to tear the head down change out the dies put the hole thing back to gather get the die cut set ( dont think you can mark it where you last had it set it will not work this time). Now if it came with 3 heads it would be a snap to change pipe size. I even tried to order just a head and was told that was a no go. but after you learn to get you layout right and thread all of one size you will need before changing you will be ok, I have threaded thin wall, 40 and 80 pipe to 2 1/2" and 40 to 4" with out a problem

Die set
Recently completed a piping job for a large general contractor. After re-piping the system twice, it was discovered that the die's were the issue. After contacting Northern Tool, we found out the threader and die only come with a 30 day warranty.
Let's see how the second set of die's make out???
Buy North American!

A Good Machine for the money.
It would be nice to afford the Cadillac, but a Chevy will do. This machine works. The stand is not very sturdy so we don't abuse it. The machine is pretty loud and there aren't any bells and whistles. But for lower volumes and intermittant use, this is the best option. I think you would want some of the bells and whistles if you were using it every day.

Good Enough
It did what it's suppose to do. The quality of precision threading is fair. Every time you set the pipe thread chuck is not consistent to next one.
NO reverse rotation to redo the thread. Equipment is to heavy for job site relocation.
The only thing good is the price. I rate this equipment fair.

nice unit
"The pipe threader is excellant but the stand is quite cheap. We had to rebuild the stand to hold the unit."
Works very good , Would like to be able to buy a extra 1/2" -1" diehead .
Would save time

Pipe Threader
We have used several brands of pipe threaders. We have found this threader to be a excellent threader for the price. We recently finished a Industrial Gas Piping job running 2" pipe and the machine worked flawlessly and my employees really liked it.

4 inch pipe threader
I found the threader to be solid and cuts excellent threads. I do considerable sch- 80, 3 inch steel pipe threading.
I would like to see a reversable motor and a taller stand. The unit overall is an excellent dollar value.
To date excellent service and when I call for information the response is professional and worthwhile.

great machine with a poor rolling cart
This is a great machine that does exactly what it was desighned to do. I have had no problems with the machine. The die changing is very easy and quick. It has great power. The only problen I have had is the rolling stand that came with it. The very first time i moved it the welds broke on the stand and droped my new machine on the floor. If you buy one of these great machines please take time to inspect the cart and reweld any faulty welds.

Does the job.
First time out we installed 1000' of 1" and 500' of 2" galvanized pipe. Powered through this with no problems. Does'nt have some of the bells and whistles as the other high priced units, but it does the job well.
