"This is one great heater, I put in my new 24 x 30 x 10 shop. Heats it up fast. easy to install, and very quiet. Right now I run it on a 20# propane tank until I get it hooked up to a much larger tank. highly recomended. I put a programable t-stat on it with a fan only option on it. works great for moving air without heat on. Way nicer and cleaner than my old wood heater I had."

Effective Shop Heater,

"Installed this unit in my 28' x 24' shop last winter and it heats the area quickly even with the 18' high ceiling. The only problem I've experienced is the nipple for tube that runs from the exhaust to the pressure switch becomes plugged(possibly due to the dusty environment) which causes the heater not to start. The problem is easily remedied by cleaning out the nipple for the tube."

"Great heater for the price. Will do a great job of heating my 24' X 32' shop this winter and use very little propane. Shop is R19 insulated throughhout. Mr Heater equipment has a very good reputation from the research I did online before purchase. Installation is easy and straighforward. A little heavy for one person (67 years old) to lift but I made a cradle for my drywall lift to lift the heater the 10' to the ceiling & hold it in place while I lag screwed it up. I had planned the supports & marked where they were."

"I live at high elevation in Colorado. It has been a COLD winter. I bought the heater to continue my car restoration in my shop. My shop is 30x30 feet, has 4 inch insulated walls and a large sliding door that has to be sealed off in the winter with only 1-1/2 inch styrofoam insulation. I am able to keep the shop at a base temperature of 45 degrees even when it is 20 below zero outside. In the morning, I can turn it up to 65 degrees and it has heated up in less than an hour! I had a professional install it. He was easily able to adjust for high altitude. Otherwise, easy to install. I have been more than pleased. Runs quiet and much quieter than I expected."

A great way to heat a garage.,

"I installed this heater a couple of weeks ago and had the propane company install the tank and lines. Installation was a breeze and this heater is quality built for the price. I love the option of horizontal venting and being a propane furnace not having to maintain this every year like you would a oil furnace. This heats my 1000sq ft insulated garage with 8 foot ceiling no problem. It is quiet and the fan pushes a lot of the air. I ran a 3 wire thermostat wire so I can control the fan on and off in the summer.

I would recommend this product to anybody. It is the absolute way to go because it is efficient, quiet, and best of all you can mount it up on the ceiling to get it out of the way and save on much needed garage space. And as we know you can never have a garage that is too big because it always seems to fill up quick!"

"Excellent addition to my garage. Easy installation and flawless operation make this a hit in my book. I have a 36'x40' garage in Windy, cold Wyoming and this heater keeps it shirt sleeve warm. I put it on the recommended thermostat so I can turn it up when I am going to work in the garage and leave it on 45 degrees the rest of the time. I work in the garage every day and it uses 22# of propane a month."

"I bought this heater three years ago and although i had a problem with the igniter after the first year the company did replace the part with no problems.I have not had any trouble with the heater ever since.It heats my three car garage easily.The only reason i gave it a four star instead of a five is because of the igniter problem that i had.I would recommend this heater to anyone."

"I purchased my heater a couple of years ago. When I first got the heater it failed to work within a month. I called the service department and they promptly sent me a new circuit board that corrected the problem. No charge, super service. Now that I have had the unit in use for two seasons I can't say enough good. It is excellent. Just this past Saturday I recommended that a friend get one for his new garage. Thanks to Northern for carrying a great product!"

Can i use this with Natural Gas?

Details:

Hi there - im looking for a 75000 BTU Natural gas garage heater - i know this indicates it is a Propane heater, but i have a natural gas line in the garage, and would like to have a heater with enough power to heat my garage using Natural Gas, not propane.

No, this heater is for use with propane only, but we do offer this same heater in a natural gas model. These are great for both residential and commercial use. The item # for the natural gas heater is 172644. Please see below for the natural gas heater and venting options.

Mr. Heater Propane Garage Heater — 75,000 BTU, Model# MHU75LP..I am inerested in purchasing this unit. What type of propane gas line do I need to operate this unit, and do I need to have a professional to test the gas line and manifold pressures? Or can I hook up the gas line myself?
