"I was truly impressed to receive my two great purchases from Northern. I had contemplated buying a mechanics tool set to store in my truck for emergencies, along with a combination wrench set to complement my other tools. I visited several well-known tool supply stores in my local area where I examined hand tools in the described categories. Not only were the tool sets and wrenches inferior to the quality of the Northern products, they were also considerably more expensive. With the cost savings, I intend to buy more Northern tools to add to my growing collection.Their merchandise is high quality, and the value is outstanding as well. Buy Northern, and you won't be disappointed."

Excellent Value for This Wide Ranging Set,
June 11, 2010

"I purchased this set because I work on many different types of outboard engines in the Coast Guard. Sometimes we don't have all the necessary tools, so I decided to buy my own set for the station. I needed a wide variety of sockets, wrenches, and drivers that were tough as nails and affordable. As a Guardian I have a limited budget and I am very rough on my tools. This set has not only met all of my expectations, it has exceeded my expectations and fit the criteria listed above. I even asked my Coast Guard station to buy a couple of sets for the shop. This set is great, a Grade AAA buy."

These tools can't take a beating at my shop,

"I guess for a home handyman these tools ain't too bad, but on a professional level they ain't good. The first week, the ratcheting maneuver failed on the 1/2" drive ratchet. The 12 point sockets are trash, they strip bolts. Even one of the 6 point 3/8" drive sockets slightly stripped a bolt and got stuck in the socket, I had to hammer the bolt out. These tools can't handle a lot of torque. The little bit set is ok, but the bits are soft. One of the flat head bits already warped. The wrenches are too small, you can't apply any torque. The 6 point sockets are ok. You get extensions for 1/2" and 3/8" but only a useless tiny one for the 1/4". These tools will not last at a mechanic shop. Period. For usage every once in a while, it's alright, but on a professional level and in the automotive field, no good."

Great tools at a great price,
November 2, 2009

"I got this to fill all the "gap's" in my tools I've managed to cause over the past 10 years. I used them to drop and re-install a transmission in a Rx300 and they performed great.
The sockeds are all six sided, and I have to admit I was not thrilled with that at first, but after using them more I have not even come close to rounding off anything. The extentions have a bit of a wobble built in as well, and that came in handy.
The ratchets are a bit stiff at first, but have loosened up nicely. Overall I would recommend this kit."

"I bought this set to have in my car, within a week it made it to my work truck. The quality of the ratchets and sockets is outstanding. The wrenches are not as pollished as the others but still work fine, and I'm not afraid to torque on them in a tight spot. I ended up ordering two more sets for coworkers. For this price don't hesitate."

Lots of Tools, Little Price,

"I have been using this tool set for over 3 years in some very tough conditions -- I carry it with me in my Jeep Wrangler on some very challenging off road trips. When you break down in the middle of nowhere you must make repairs no matter what. This can lead to some -- dare I say it? -- tool ABUSE. Not one item in this set has ever failed me.
I have only one tiny complaint: one of the plastic latches broke on the very low profile tool box that came with my set. Not surprising as rough as I treat the kit and box. So I bought a cheap canvas bag and tossed all the tools in there. I never leave home without them."
