"Excellent for burning vegetation, but also very impressive for starting the campfire. No kindling, fire starters, flammable liquids, etc. Set-up the fire wood, stick the weed torch in the bottom and let it rip. Especially impressive at night with first-time onlookers.

It's true that you only need to "crack" the valve on the propane tank. Reminds me a lot of the burner on a hot-air balloon when you hit that lever!"

"OK, I'm now a fan of gardening. I get to use a flamethrower and get credit for being environmentally conscious.

Seriously though, way better than the weed dragon as it comes with all the extras that the weed dragon charges you for. Plastic handle has all the controls on it and it doesn't get cold from the propane pumping through. The igniter is a great addition, the power is awesome and the only negative so far is that they put a stupid warning sticker on the cone. Ummm... HOT???? Even thought it was metallic, how long do you think it lasted with 450k BTUs pumping through it?

At this point I'm rooting for the weeds to come back, so I can have an excuse to have at 'em again!"

"I bought this torch to use as a weed burner on our property.
I works great !
I used it to burn out the grass and weeds along 3000 ft of fencing,
as well as multiple large garden areas, and along the driveway.
No sign of the grass or weeds coming back, only brown and dead
material.
I especially like the built in striker and the control valve which are
attached to the bar and handle unit. This makes it very easy to light
and relight if necessary. The 450K btu is great ! While running it, my
neighbor came out of his barn and wondered, "What the heck is that !?"
He thought it was an after burner on a jet going by. Got me laughing for sure. The torch does a good job and is just plain fun to use too."

"Works great can be a pain with the safety valve. Other than that the torch has a wicked blast and will burn of heat anything you want. The long hose is a bonus and the self igniter comes in handy and works well."

"I live in the Az desert and we have a problem of desert weed seeds blowing in the wind and the first slight rain the seeds pop up like majic, thousands of them. I purchased this item to control weed starts before they mature & seed the surrounding area. It really works well & save s fuel (LP) during those non burn times. It was so easy to use a lady friend borrowed it and had no problem burning her weed starts also."

Holy Weed Torch Batman!!!!,

"Just got it tonight via UPS in 4 business days. Out of the package and hooked up to a 20lb propane tank in less than 5 minutes. This thing rocks!!! I took it out in my drive way which has plenty of snow and ice and this thing melts right through it!! I didn't get a whole lot of time to mess with it tonight but could tell right away this is a quality italian made product. Valve on nozzle makes it very simple to adjust your pilot light. The piezo ignitor is great. Long hose makes it nice to leave the tank sitting and at safer distance from your flame. The control trigger makes it easy to adjust just how much flame you want coming out. At "full throttle" this thing sounds like a jet taking off!!! And the heat generated....holy schnikeys!!! Looking forward to burning weeds and brush this Spring/Summer/Fall."

"Good-bye Round Up!!! After years of buying weed killers and replacing my sprayer every other year, not to mention watching the weeds grow back after I planted my garden, I own something that works and is actually fun to use. I don't have to lock the dogs in the garage, I can plant the same day if I choose, and in the long run is going to be cheaper to use. It took me less than 5 minutes to become proficient at "feathering the throttle" and the trick seems to be to only open the tank valve far enough and slow enough to let the gas flow. Even the few times it did blow out on me, re-lighting was only a push of the ignitor away. After I've got them burned down, I cover the ground with fabric, cardboard or newspaper, add a layer of mulch and I'm done. The long hose is a bonus because I only have to move the tank one time to reach my entire back yard."

The 2010 spring and summer master catalog (#1006 and 2006) expired on 8/15/10. The Fall and winter master catalog (#1101 and 2101) is out now and will be current until 02/06/11. Expiration dates can be found on the inside of the back cover in the lower left hand corner in a box that says "This catalog good through". It is possible in some cases for the pricing to vary among the catalog, internet and our retail stores. Pricing on our website is updated the most frequently and is typically changed at 12:00 am on Wednesdays.
