will this set up push 80w90

Details:

i would like to know if this set up will push 80w90 weight gear oil? also what size is the tube on the outlet of the gun?

This Northern Industrial Pneumatic Oil Dispenser will not pump 80w90 weight gear oil because it is too thick and heavy. The outside diameter of the tube on this dispenser is 3/4 inch.

Answers

A control valve with meter can be added on to the Northern Industrial Pneumatic Oil Dispenser. The dispenser itself has a 3/4" fitting, and the metered control valves we sell use a 1/2" fitting. An adapter would have to be found locally to make the 2 work together. See link below the the control valve..

Big time saver I bought this because I got sick of lifting 5 gallon pails of hydraulic fluid up to shoulder height and aiming for a funnel. Exhausting and messy. This is just the trick for fluid changes on heavy equipment. Not only is it great for large quantity jobs, the hose/nozzle is great for getting into tight spots like differentials and final drives. All in all, this is just one of those tools that makes life easier, neater, and quicker. My only complaint is that mine arrived missing one of the bolts to attach the wheel. Sooner or later I'll remember to grab one at the hardware store, but it obviously still works fine in the mean time. May 19, 2013

total time saver (but) use on a daily basis saves lots of time putting motor oil,atf,etc in motorhomes most class a rvs have very poor oil fill locations.and this makes it a brezze.but like other reviews note the sight tube on the side is off by apprx 3 qts so when it quits pumping oil out there is still about 3 qts in bottom.to resovle this i extenended the pick up tube to the bottom of the tank.now just mesure oil as i put in the tank and dont worry about the tank markings. Great little oil pump This thing is great for transferring oil with no mess. Tip of nozzle unscrews to allow oil to flow, and screws back in to keep oil in when not in use, and doesn't lose a drop in the process. Despite the apx 1/8" dia hole, oil flows quickly through the nozzle. I'm using a 2-1/2 CFPM air compressor, set at 42 psi, and it shoots oil at about 1.5 GPM. The unit was well thought out. No fuss, no muss. I use it to fill gearboxes on pumping units in an oil field but would be terrific for changing the oil in the family car. October 8, 2012

mixed This product is well built and works great, except, the gallon markings on the side of the tank are off. Whe you add (1) gallon of oil to the tank, the indicator shows 3/4 gallon. If you can deal with this, it ts a great tool!!! April 21, 2008

oil dispenser this product is great. was a little worried that it might not do what was needed but it has come in very handy with our day to day operation of shop when changing oil in vehicle. we will be purchasing another one in future to use for trans fluid also April 15, 2008

The down side The waiting game, IM in Iraq and need the Oil dispenser yesterday. If the big guy could just keep them in stock it would be grate. The tank it self is ok, but if your going to use it 24-7, the hose will need to be replaced. It wears out in 3 months with everyday use. I put an air hose on my tank and it works grate. The gose is cheep that comes with the tank, its way to hard when its cold out. The wheels are a little dingy but has never failed me yet. December 1, 2007
