Need at least one of these.
Flap discs are great for grinding down welds without removing too much material. I wasn't dissappointed with this disc and I will definitely purchase more in the future.

Norton 60-Grit Flap Disc — 4 1/2in.
I have used Norton Flap wheel discs in my high school welding class and they worked great. They are still just as good when I use them at home. This is the product to buy if you want to grind off some paint or nock off light burrs, or clean off some heavy rust. The finish is much smoother than with a composite grinding disc and you remove less actual metal, hence, the material keeps it's strength.
*Removes more material than 80 grit. I have both 80 and 60 grit and I recomend the heaver grit for more grinding/deburing applications while the 80 for removing rust and paint.

flap disks
Norton has been know for years as a high quality disk.
flap disks are great for removal of paint, rust and scale. Grinding disk can remove too much metal where a flap disk can gently remove and shape your material. While a 60 grit is pretty aggresive with a little practice you can get the right pressure and movement to do the job. They are also great for sharpening tools and just polishing metal.
Norton will outlast any of the box store or discount disk. You won't be disappointed with these disks
