Had this genset for a couple years now
Works fine, it fits nicely using the carry all hitch on a Kubota BX series tractor. I run it regularly as the instructions say to warm it and get any moisture out of the coils. I load it with 4 electric space heaters - 1500-1650 watts each, with a short extension cord I made and run it through the 220/240 plug.
It does leak some gear oil as indicated in other reviews, I believe it is coming from the drain plug - I'll try teflon tape in the spring at gear oil change time.
Highly recommend with the carry-all hitch and drive shaft - just set the unit at proper height (less shaft angle is better not more than 10 deg), crib up the unit so it doesn't settle and you are good to go.

Good, compact generator
We got this after the 'derecho' storms which came through this past June resulting in widespread power outages. I run it off a 1985 Ford 1310 diesel tractor which is advertised as having 19hp. Keep in mind that these units MUST be run at 540 pto rpm for them to work so small tractors will be going pretty much full throttle for hours on end; we found that fuel consumption was about a gallon per hour. (You do the math on your fuel tank) I installed a fuel cutoff valve on the tractor wired into the low oil pressure and high temp lights in case something went wrong since it came with idiot lights and a manual shutoff system. I wouldn't run a tractor unattended at those rpms without an automatic shutoff. Like others have commented, the generator whines a bit and weeps a little gear lube out of the vent; those are minor complaints and why I took off one star. I mounted it on a carryall attachment (Like Northern item #18743) and used the drive shaft from our three-point mower. I installed a generator transfer switch at the load center and run most of the lights, well pump, 2 refrigerators, and even the water heater occasionally. We also used the computer and wireless router but both were plugged into a UPS. Lights did pulse a little but no damage to any appliances, furnace, etc... I fashioned a rain cover for it from an old plastic doghouse top. Not sure if that was necessary but I wouldn't think it's good to have wind-driven rain pouring into an electrical device.

Great Generator...
Great generator with loads of power and easy to operate. I tested it right after I got it and it lit my whole house up like a Christmas tree.

Great Generator
Generator runs fantastic, Had it a little over a year now with no issues. Runs off pto so no motor maintenance, Just make sure the gear oil is full. Wired to run our entire electric panel. Will run everything in the house including a well pump at once exept the big item's like dryer & oven, It will run them just not all at the same time. Plus It's very portable, just hook it up and go.

pto generator
I have not had to use it yet, but it seems to be a well built generator that will be easy to use. It mounted on trailer perfectly and attached to my tractor with ease.

Great PTO Generator
I bought this generator to mount on my new Kubota model 2620. My power seems to go out every time the wind blows. My power went out one week after i mounted this to my tractor. This unit did a great job on keeping up with everything i needed to use!
I will never be without power again.

Great performance and value
I bought this generator a few years ago and used it very infrequently. Then this year we had 2 power failures. Each lasted about a week. I ran this generator on the back of my 25hp diesel Kioti tractor about 12 hours a day the first week and 24/7 the second week. It ran flawlessly. Kudo's are also due the tractor. I ran it with the 220v outlet powering both legs in the box. I was able to run my oil furnace for heat and hot water and my 220v well pump. I also ran my television until the cable went out. No problems. The meter on the generator seems to be quite accurate. I checked the output for volts and frequency in one of the outlets in my house. As long as the tractor kept the generator spinning in the sweet spot on the meter everything worked great. I am very happy with the purchase and would do it again. I was lucky enough to buy it on sale. Make sure you either build or buy the frame to mount the generator to your tractor.

Purchased after Hurricane IKE
We needed a Generator after the storm, this was one of the few things we could find after the disaster because it was PTO driven. We really like it and use it around the farm whereever we need power. Very nicely built and simple to use. Will run our whole house. Only regret was not buying the next size up.

7200W PTO generator
I bought this to use with my 15 PTO HP tractor as backup power for my house (including a 240V well pump), and as a portable power supply around my property. It has worked great for both applications.

no brainer
I have bought several generators in the past. All I had trouble with the motor and non use or stand by. It seemed that I spent more time working on or cleaning the carb. This happoned at all the wrong times (when I needed to use it.) This is the greatest thing I have ever bought and thanks to you guys at Northern for helping me. I have a small (20hp) tractor thah I mow with and use
every couple of weeks. Why not get this pto generator and use my tractor motor. WHAT A SUPER IDEA you guys get 5 stars. I didn't need another motor
to maintain I need a generator. My hat is off to you. This works super....
