Torin Tall Transmission Jack - 1000-Lb. Capacity, Model# T72002 3.8 5 10 10

Does OK... as long as your tranny isn't heavy I used this 3 times so far for 3 transmissions, including a lightweight miata trans, a medium weight automatic GM trans and a very heavy weight SM465 dump truck trans. The first two no problem. The last one was difficult to jack and it seemed that the jack wanted to give out as it was lifted up. When I did finally get it into place, the jack was having trouble making light adjustments up and down. While it's a great jack for light tasks, it's not up to moving a 300+ pound trans very well. Nice Jack! I bought this jack as a home hot rodder to swap transmissions in my 2001 Z-28. I have a lift in my garage, so I needed something to do the job safely. The jack did everything I wanted it to! Along with the tranny, I dropped the gas tank to change the fuel pump, swapped the rear end to a 12 bolt and used it to hold the drain pan for doing oil changes on the lift. It worked well for everything. The only reason I didn't rate it at 5 stars is because I do agree with some of the other posters that it may not be up to task with heavier transmissions. All in all an excellent value and I would recommend this to any home hot rodder with access to a lift. January 19, 2012

Great low cost tranny jack Purchased this jack for a low volume commercial garage where we change roughly two to four trannies a month. The Torin Tall Transmission Jack is heavy enough to service any car or light truck transmission and light enough to be maneuverable and convenient. Plenty of adjustability and lift range, it has made life much simpler and safer in our shop. Certainly not heavy enough for large truck or heavy equipment but perfect for cars and trucks up to one ton. I would recommend this product to any shop doing light automotive work. November 5, 2009

poor This jack is rated at 1000 lb. but the wheels and frame on the bottom bent at 250 lb. If you are doing up to light duty pickup transmissions it will work but not heavy duty enough to do a F350 6-speed manual. I will need to get a heavier duty one. It will not handle 1000 lb as described. July 22, 2009

Transmission Jack The jack worked perfectly, easy to manuver and adjust. Well worth the money. Would highly recommend this jack. I am professional mechanic, I know good tools when I see them. March 16, 2009

Torin Tall Transmission Jack This is a good buy for intermittent lighter use (i.e., transmission removal or other below vehicle hoisting work). Not recommended for daily heavy duty work. As with other Torin items, the packing is terrible and items can be lost or damaged in transit. August 11, 2008

Torin Tall Transmission Jack — 1000-Lb. Capacity, Very good jack for the price; and to be a single stage jack. Easy to assemble although I was missing a few nuts and bolts to install the adjustable arms on the table. Being a single stage you must lift the trans 49" to put it on the jack but they tell you that up front so it should not be a surprise. I could not beat it for the price; easy to operate and dependable. March 8, 2007
