"These have turned out to be even better than expected. I purchased three of these, or a table and a half if they spent most of their time in table form. Ours are more often used as benches around the fire pit, but it is the ability to convert that makes them really nice. Having a family cookout or need a place to but the marshmallow roasting supplies? Just flip up the table top.

The assembly is simple, and can be done easily by one person alone. The instructions are clear and easily followed. The pieces themselves were clean and without sharp edges or flashing. The hardware is included, and was complete. I used basic treated lumber, stained it with a dark stain, so my overall expenses were just about $100 for everything per bench.

I would happily purchase these again."

"Love the benches, my 7 year old helped me put them together. Made mine 6' long and had to add a cross support on the seat and table so buy 10 2x4's. Bought two kits and have them set up on my front porch as benches, and then we can take them down to the lawn for a cook out and use them as a picnic table. Everybody who has seen them comments on how cool they look and what a great idea."

"I bought the green version of this just in time for my wife's 60th birthday. I used 8 ft 5/4 cedar decking with natural cedar stain. Lighter than regular 2X4s and really good looking. Instructions were almost written by an 11th grade English speaking person. It took me about an hour each to put together. Bolts for joining to benches together are definitely too short. Quick trip to hardware store fixes that. I think that with a little effort some easy to clamp version would make this a definite 5 star item.

Even though I used much lighter wood, I only had to add a simple brace in the middle of each bench. My wife bragged during her party under our tall cedars about how great my present to her was."

"I am using this at a pond near a fire pit. The bonus on this product is the table conversion feature - smores supplies won't be carried off by the ants/beatles/etc.
I did use 8 foot treated wood - was real heavy (I had my doubts) - but, alas, the frame is holding strong even with 3 people on it.

Highly recommend."

"Love the bench! My brother in law has one at his cabin in Colorado. We use it on his porch as a bench around the fire. At lunch it is a table for the kids, and in the evening we use it for our spotting scope to look at the wildlife. If you buy more than one you can put them together to make a full table. "I got the kit for my daughter who lives in a condo. She has a small deck, and needs to make the most of the available spave. The kit was as advertised and all parts were complete and of good quality. I stained the 2x4's to match the deck and it was easy to customize it to fit perfectly. It's great for her and her husband as there isn't enough room for a full sized picnic table. Would I buy another? Absolutely."

"would highly recommend purchasing benches. have been used around the patio and pool, as well as extra seating and table space around fire pit. have used many times with just as many compliments, like " these are just neat were did you get them" they must have cost a lot. had to confess i assembled them myself after purchasing the kits from Northern Tool. great thanks again"
