"''Warranty does not apply if mounted on a mobile surface.''

True, it's designed to charge/maintain 12 volt batteries of boats and RVs. Even the box that the panel came in has a picture of the panel mounted on an RV.

HOWEVER, the warranty is VOID if mounted on anything that moves (i.e.: ''marine applications,'' or ''mobile applications.'').

This means, of course, that I have to ship the product back to Northern Tool. I hope the product description is modified for this product, so that potential buyers can be saved some grief."

"I own 4 of these panels and live in New England. The 4 panels alone have cut my electric bill nearly in half for the last few years and paid for themselves already. They've seen the full spectrum of weather, including harsh winters, high winds, and a couple of heavy hail storms. They continue to perform with zero maintenance. I couldn't be more impressed."

"I am using this to power a fuel pump located in the middle of a parking area. Prior to this we had to hook up a vehicle which was a pain. I would advise using a gel type battery."

"This panel is easy to install and use but to get full amps it needs full, direct sun. On cloudy days, you'll only get .3 to .5 amps."

"I have been using one for two years now! I installed one panel with a controller and deep cycle battery at my cabin, where I have no other electricity. It runs my XM radio, DVD player, and lights directly off 12 VDC. And I use a small inverter to run periodic AC items, like Satellite receiver/TV, charging most small appliance batteries, etc. The only time I have any problem is when it is cloudy for more than three days and the battery doesn't get charged. Another panel, another battery, bigger inverter and microwave are next."

"This is the best solar panel that I have ever had. I can get about one amp even on a very cloudy and rainiest day. I have a charge controler which can boost my charge amps by 20 to 30% so if I get about 900ma on a very cloudy day with rain it can charge 1.4 amps into my battery with no problem. You really need to purchase this solar panel, you will love it. It puts out every watt and amp that is stated for this panel. Very well built and easy to mount. It has a special glass to boost the sun light from any angle so it dont have to be pointed directly to the sun. This panel has about five amps output on a nice day, a little more than stated by the company."
