"I bought this because I have a land rover with a GVRW of 8,000 lbs. The land rover's factory scissor jack was probably meant for a toyota, and buckled on its first use. I needed a scissor jack that can handle the weight of my vehicle and yet be able to be stored in the truck. I didn't want a bottle jack due to their nature of always leaking hydraulic fluid.
This jack is tough and does the job nicely. The only "negative" is the cranking handle isn't as heavy duty, but works fine all the same. If space is critical, make sure you match the dimensions of your storage space and the jack. The picture online is misleading, this is 30% bigger than the typical scissor jack."
