how hard is it to dump?

Details:

When the mixer is full ( it says approximately 400 lbs) is it hard to dump?

With a full load it is possible to wheel the mixer around on a hard surface. However soft dirt or an uneven surface makes for trouble. Use plywood or such to pave the path.
Tipping is easy if you want to dump the entire load. Control to only dump a portion of the load is tuff as once you reach the over-center point there is no holding it back.
Unless you have a stand the entire load cannot be removed by tipping alone. The remainder must be scrapped out.

You should be able to tumble stones up to the size that they dent and deform the paddles. I would be careful with stone over 3 inch. Using 3/4 inch gravel would be of no concern. 1/4 inch pea gravel can become lodged in the paddles where they attache to the base and must be picked out with a tool at the end of the day.

Kushlan Electric Portable Cement Mixer with Flat-Free Tires - 6 Cubic Ft., Model# 600W 4.2 5 5 5

300 Bags later I used this mixer to pour footers and stairs, consuming ~300, 80 lb bags of premixed concrete. The machine is a work horse and shows no sign of wear. During assembly make sure the pinion gear is fully engaged to the ring gear or it will slip under load. The assembly instructions are silent on this. I found a load of 3 80 lb bags works best but 4 bags is possible if you are careful about the amount of free water in the barrel and can afford the mess some spilling makes. I work alone and was able to mix and place 7 bags per hour all day long. If necessary I could place 8 per hour but not for the entire day. I did not use the machine for mixing the mortar for setting block as the batter would not churn correctly at the correct water content. However thinner mixtures of grout and plaster worked fine. For consistent mixing add ~85% of your water first, then add the dry mix. It will be sloppy but it will mix properly and tighten up as the last of the concrete is added. For my recipe I placed about 4.5 gallons of water in the barrel, then added 2 1/2 bags (80lb), then added water and the remainder of the last bag together as required. Do not let the mixture get too dry as it will pack into the rear of the barrel and not mix properly creating delay and inconsistent results. November 7, 2012

Mixer6cuft This has been a great workhorse. I have poured 10 yds. of patio in small sections and the mixer just keeps on mixin. It is a real bonus to be able to pour directly out of the mixer, no need to transfer material into a wheelbarrow. For the general "do it yourselfer" or "handyman" this would be a good addition for those small concrete jobs. August 23, 2010

COMMENTS ON MIXER I HAVE FOUND THAT THE MIXER DOESN'T HOLD UP TO REAL WORK . Kushlan Mixer Review I've had this mixer for about a year and I must say It's getting close to paying for itself. I pour lots of footings in out of the way places where a Ready Mix truck can't get to. Before, I would buy bags of concrete mix, mixing one bag at a time in a wheel barrow now with the Kushlan I buy the gravel, sand and Portland and the mixer does the job. If I do use the bagged mix I can now mix 5 bags in less time than 1 bag by hand. I should have bought this years ago. October 29, 2007

IT's good not excellent (5) bags of cement . NO it cant hold it .when its turn on ( 4) Bags of cement. YES it will hold an contain every drop. OH make sure you put WATER FIRST. IF not. It will stick to the BACK. when duping try useing a 5 gallion bucket. .ON the JOB save time an MONEY IF you mix cement. THIS IS A MUST HAVE March 11, 2007
