The extra ratchet in my set
There's a lot of times where I need two half inch drive ratchets. I like the long ergonomic handle of these so much I bought a spare to use as my second ratchet. I usually put one on each side of the nut/bolt and turn against each other so I'm doing double turns. Easy to handle with one hand but long enough to put your back into it on a stuck piece and get the leverage you need.

Ratchet works great when it works but so far I've had it jam 5 or 6 times in probably 4 hours worth of use and the toggle won't flip until you put the socket back on it and put it on a bolt and wiggle it back and forth - I think the teeth on the ratch gear are very short and lots of them thus stopping on top of a tooth where the toggle is not moveable happens more often with this ratchet than others - maybe I should take it back and try another

great ratchet
i work at a shop that uses many high end tools. i needed a new ratchet after i stripped the teeth off of my old one with the BFH. i saw the price of this tool and wasnt sure if it would stand up with some of my other high dollar tools. since it was cheap enough i decided to try it. im glad i did. occasionaly you find yourself in a spot where you have a stuck on bolt but not enough room to get an impact or breaker bar on it so you wind up using a hammer and a ratchet. this ratchet has held up to the BFH abuse many times and still works like brand new.. very strong, sturdy ratchet. great quality and would definately buy another.

A Great Value
I haven't had any northern tools before, but got the 1/2" ratchet as a gift. It works great. When you pick it up you know that it is a quality tool. I have loosened several overtightened rusty nuts with it and haven't had any problems with it. I also like the socket lock that it has which prevents the socket from falling off or slipping. For the price I don't think you will find a better ratchet on the market.

Unreal Deal
I was very skeptical about the quality, considering the price I paid for this, however, after reading others reviews, I decided to try it. It's very good quality and works great.

Very sturdy and inexpensive!
My boyfriend bought this for his self after I had purchased some things from Northern Tool that he loved. He said this was a good buy and that he expected it to be no good since it was so inexpensive, but when he recieved he said it was actually very good. He said that the "quick release" is very convinient and that he looks forward to having to use it!!

Northern 1/2 Drive Rathhet
A quality tool and great price. I like the fine increments of the ratchet. I'm not a big fan of this handle shape and the narrow groves in it have fairly sharp edges. This is not a serious problem and overall a very good tool.
