Jig Saw - Milwaukee 6268-21
Looked at Bosch, DeWalt, Grizzly, Milwaukee, Porter-Cable, etc. Read the Reviews (Magazines & Owners). Compared features. Looked at bang for the $. For me the winner was Milwaukee. When I started I was heavily biased towards Bosch, after reviewing the data Milwaukee won hands down.
The 6268-21 has great features, such as a LED that you can see the line with (not the shadow of the blade, (some manufactures put the LED behind the blade??!). The dust blower not only clears chips off of the line, but allows adjustment so the dust isn't being blown any more than necessary. These two features together are of great importance, as the saying goes "You can't saw it if you can't see it".
Blade change is easy as pie, although there is no automatic blade eject, just give the saw a little shake & the blade will fall right out. The saw cuts smooooth, it glides along with minimum effort from the user. One characteristic I have noticed that is irritating is the length of time the saw takes to stop after the trigger is released. It takes longer for the blade to stop than other saws I have used previously. After using the saw it has become a favorite tool, No you can't borrow mine. Get your own from Northern Tool great prices, service, and tools!

milwaukee jig saw - model 6268-21
I am very pleased with this jig saw - its actually easier to use than I orginally thought - to me its very user friendly
it zips thru wood very smoothly and quickly -- to change the blade is quick and holds the blade in place very tight..
the led light is very helpful and will guide you to a perfect cut - the bevel selection is very easy to change and once changed the angle selection will stay in place.... I also looked at dewalt and bosch decided on the milwaukee jig saw and I am very glad i did...... In my opinon you can't go wrong with this saw.......

Another excellent product from Milwaukee.
- T Lok blade holding system has a very large lever making blade changes a snap and the blade remains very secure in the tool.
- Light at the blade is a must have feature. I do a lot of work in poorly lit areas and the light makes easy to find and stay on your mark.
- Good ergonomics. The tool just fits in your hand.
- Carry case makes tool storage and transportation easy.
- None yet.

This saw replaced a black and decker and cuts much faster and scrolls easier. The removable plastic nonmar base helps slide over smooth wood and steel. The cast aluminum base is solid. The dust blower function works great and the LED really does help in low light and inside situations. The saw feels heavy until in use. I have not tried it vertically but it works fine horizontal. It cuts wood fast enough that it is easy to cut bevels without the saw pulling around. The bevel adjustment is a pleasure to use. If you are looking for a great jigsaw and plan to by only one in a lifetime this is it. The case makes storage simple with specific location for the manual, blades (can be stored with a blade installed), guide (an optional accesory), and removable dust shield.

I've had Crafstman, DeWalt, and Porter Cable jig saws and this one beats them all. Nothing I've used can match the feel and ease of use of this jig saw. Milwaukee got it right! This thing chews up anything in it's path and with little to no effort on your part. Just guide the blade to where you want it and the tool will do the rest. One drawback - the no-tool blade mechanizm is a bit tricky. It wants to spit out the blade if it's not COMPLETELY set in place. Thought I just got careless the first time but it happened again, after I made a point of double checking it. Perhaps it's just me, but once you get the blade set properly, hang on and enjoy your work!
