Right on for the price
I purchsed these bits for a specific project i was working on with my son. We were taking expired or un-safe for pressure scuba tanks and making lamps and change banks. I needed several sizes to step-up the bore through the thick walled aluminum. This set worked well for what we wanted to do.

Best deal out there.
These bits are a must for your shop and you cant beat the price. I originaly only needed two sizes for a project that I'm working on. The two sizes that I almost purchased cost more than this twelve piece set. As soon as i returned home, I put them to work on some 2 inch thick steel and they made short work of the drilling. I used the two largest sizes on this project and they realy passed the test. Nice wood case too. I'll probably get another set or two for gifts. You wont be sorry if you purchase these bits. Hope they keep stocking them.

Outstanding value.
This is a great set of bits at a reasonable price. I have used them on steel, alumunum and wood with no sign of dulling. I would recommend this set for any home handyman / craftsman.

Inexpensive drill bits
So far I have used them to drill in wood, alu and soft steel. They did fine. Time will tell how they hold up. The box is a bit flimsy, but I bought the drills not the box.

Great bits! Great price!
A lot of specialty sizes in this set. The set costs slightly more than buying a couple of these drills individually from other retailers. These drills are very good quality and hold up well if used correctly and are a great deal at this price.

Silver-Deming drills
These oversized drills are handy for the big jobs needing bits over 1/2 inch. These bits fit my 1/2 inch drill press and hold up well for drilling our bushings on my antique tractors.

Great to keep by the drill press
These reduced shank drills are a great value. They aren't the greatest material, but they are clearly made for occasional use. If you drill a lot of large holes in steel you shouldn't be buying S & D style drills anyway. You will have a high enough horsepower machine to handle taper shank drills. I keep them by my drill press where they are usually used to "open up" holes rather than drill from the solid. Even then, I usually have to use two or three of these drills to step up to the size I ultimately need, simply because my 5/8 inch drill press diesn't have the torque to make that big a hole all at once. These drills allow me to do quickly on the drill press jobs that would take much longer if I have to set them up on the milling machine.
The wooden box isn't a very elaborate affair. It clearly isn't meant to transport the tools in a toolbox simply because it doesn't hold the drills very securely. The divider is a very weak material, almost foam, that allows the drills to shift position and contact each other if handled any way but in the flat orientation. I didn't buy them for the box though, and it is perfactly adequate to keep the drills clean and separated near the drill press.

Great for the occasional user
Probably not the quality of bits that a machinist would chose to use on a day to day basis, but for someone (like me) who occasionally needs to drill larger than 1/2 " holes in metal, this set is a great value!
