One Little Part Upgrades Entire Pressure Washer
Northern Tool + Equipment has done it again, saving me money, time, and my back. They have the right parts to improve my existing power tool investment.
My gas-powered pressure washer is a better-grade homeowner model. The original equipment wand is too short for me to pressure wash the driveway without bending over, and requires using a ladder to wash the house and gutters. With summer here I needed to clean the driveway, and my back was sore just thinking about it.
Looking at professional rigs, they feature quick-disconnect couplings for extensions and nozzles. It was time for an upgrade, so I headed to Northern expecting to replace my entire wand setup.
In the store was a well-stocked, organized display area of quick disconnect parts, especially the #2231 Quick Coupler Steel Female Plug - 1/4in. Inlet Size, 5200 PSI, 6 GPM item. This convinced me my original wand could be upgraded. I bought a few Quick Couplers, wand extensions, and nozzles for about the same price as a new wand. An employee asked me if I had enough thread sealing tape, so I picked up an inexpensive roll of #18099 ThreadSeal tape to be sure.
Back at the shop it took ten minutes to remove the original nozzle and install quick disconnects. Threading a #2234 quick disconnect female onto the wand in place of the original nozzle, a whole bunch of new options became possible. Adding a #1571042 male to the original nozzle upgraded that.
The 28 inch #32647 extension already had a female connector, so exchanging the 22mm male for a #2231 male finished the job. The 19 inch DL18ICS extension got a #2231 male and #2234 female.
Now I can quickly choose 4 different wand lengths and any nozzle. The #2231 Quick Coupler Steel Female Plug saved me from purchasing a bunch of double female pipe couplings and making up extra joints. The steel construction is soild and the seal is positive, leakproof and fast. I have extras for additional extensions.
5 of 5 Stars for this money-saving, strong part. Thanks Northern!
