"Here's one case where you get more than you pay for. I had a really good pair of fencing pliars (or "wahr plahrs", as the local cowhands call them). I thought I'd lost them, made me sick. So I bought a couple pairs of these pliars from Northern, not a maker's mark or any other stamping on them. I think they're Chinese (?). I didn't expect much, and was pleasantly surprised. They looked good on arrival, but there was already some rust in the inner pivot joints, they were stiff and had "sticking" spots. I oiled them up liberally and worked them to loosen the action, wiped off the black crud that came out out of the joint, and went to work. Wow! They're made from good steel, I was able to cut 2-strand high-tensile barbed wire with one snip. Their gripping serrations are a bit coarse, but they hold wire fine, let you twist a splice easy. One benefit is the very sharp point on the staple-puller, works better than the blunt tip on other pliars. I later found my expensive pliars...but you know, I actually prefer to use these inexpensive ones now...I don't worry about losing or damaging them. Only time will tell if they can stand up to hard use, but so far I'm impressed. They're darned good for the price."

"I had lost my old pliers and was in need of a new set. I was surprised at the quality for such an amazing price and the only ones I could find. I was born on a ranch and have built a lot of fence in my days and these are as good as they come. They will cut right through both strands in one cut. They are heavy enough to drive staples with little effort. and have good grips. My old ones did not have ruber grips or the pointed head opposite the hammer. Later I did find a pair for twenty some dollars. Amazing"
