Dump Hoist Kit
Detailed instructions were provided accompanied by photos greatly reducing installation time. The bed support frame did not fit exact and alterations were necessary. No circuit protection was provided in kit. Required purchase from local vendor.

tired of shoveling
I purchased this dump kit in 2002 and have since replaced the pump, reinforced the bed of my truck, and have had to fabricate several little extras to make this dump kit work as badly as it does. Now I am confronted with a problem that may cause me to take the kit off permanently. I recall the instructions not helping out too much, and as far as dumping a 4000lb. load (forgetaboudit). This kit has been a problem since day 1 and I would definitely not reccomend this item. On the positive side, when I did have to contact them when the pump needed replaced, they knew exactly what I needed and were fast to ship it to me.

Better Than I Expected
Contrary to the other reviews, I have had excellent luck with this Dump Hoist Kit. I installed it on my F-250 in about three days. I didn't find the instructions insufficient - everything that came with the purchase was there and easily identifiable. Yesterday, I did some extensive dirt work - loading my truck bed with wet dirt, moving it half a mile and dumping it in the fill location. I purposely overloaded it just to check the capacity - the hydraulics handled it with ease. I like this product so much, I'm considering buying one for my F-150 flat bed.

Pickup Truck Dump Hoist Kit 4000 lbs capacity
The unit was working fine but it won’t lift the 4,000 lbs that was promised. I had to shovel some of the load out to lift the bed. It was installed correctly according to the instructions. I think If you have a lighter load than this one well work Just fine. The next time I well have to buy the one that is heaver duty.

Pickup Truck Dump Hoist Kit 4000 lbs capacity
The unit showed up a couple days later than was promised. The instructions were terrible. It took two reasonably intelligent men, both with above average mechanical ability, the better part of the day just to identify the parts and make heads or tails of the thing. The pictures included in the instructions were probably taken with a camera from a successful install at the factory and Xeroxed. I, no doubt, got the 500th copy. They are extremely poor quality pictures (there’s no excuse for that in this day and age). Two days later, the thing was installed. It won’t lift the 4,000 lbs that was promised. I came across the scale at 9,900 lbs. My rig only weighs 7,240 lbs. That’s 2,660 lbs; add the weight of the bed, maybe 300 lbs; and the weight of the lumber rack, maybe 200 lbs. I only asked it to lift 3,160 lbs. I had to shovel several hundred lbs out to lift the bed. Yes, it was installed correctly, and according to the instructions. No, I won’t buy another one when the new truck comes in.
