Erik Darnell On Michigan International Speedway

Erik Darnell on racing at Michigan International Speedway:
“Michigan is one of those tracks that allow drivers to go up to four-wide down the front stretch. It’s a track known for long green runs, and I think that can be an advantage for our Northern Tool + Equipment team. We’ve run well this season under long green flag racing and I’m hoping for it to continue at MIS. This NT+E team has suffered some bad luck the past couple of weeks and I think MIS is a great place for our luck to change.”

Crew chief Matt Puccia on racing at Michigan International Speedway:
“Track position is key if you want to have a good run at Michigan. Since it’s so difficult to pass, we need to put up a great qualifying time Saturday morning. It’s a track with wide flat corners that can lead to some exciting racing. This track reminds me a lot of California; a track that Erik ran well at back in February. Erik will be driving a brand new truck this weekend. The truck did very well during several wind tunnel tests and I’m hoping for this Northern Tool + Equipment team to have a good day come Saturday afternoon.”
